Skrillex and indeed dubstep scare me ... haha really,.. it just doesnt sound right to my ears... although I did hear one dubstep remix of metalica and it sounded pretty good. But no I'm not a fan, but I admire what he does.
Skrillex, known for his dubstep, electro house whatever (insert desired category here). I'm not really into this music, but I'm really diggin' it
I know Skrillex as Sonny Moore, who I've been a fan of for awhile as he used to be frontman for a 'emo' band, From First To Last. The only thing I don't like about his singing, is that he has a lisp going on sometimes and it comes through his singing. Listen to Emily by From First To Last and you'll get what I'm saying. Makes it sound a bit retarded. But to see him evolve is quite nice. I think his music is pretty good. It has a distinctive sound in my opinion, which I love. I've only listened to a few songs, I can't remember them off the top of my head. Kill Everybody is one of them, I believe it's on a game, don't know which one. There's also a few Korn songs too, Get Up is one. You really must have a good stereo to really get the best out of these songs.
I've heard that Skrillex has been coping some slack from fans of dubstep whatever, saying that he's killing it, by bringing it into the mainstream. Well I say eff you. Anyone who complains about that is a d*ck. Music is music no matter what stream it's in! I think Skrillex is doing a great job. Good on you you ole emo kid
Anyone else have an opinion?

I really do not dig anything Skrillex brings to the dubstep scene. His glitchstep (as i like to call it) brings me nothing but headaches. I hate all dubstep like that as well. Even if it the more "mainstream" dubstep.
Anyone who claims that he is bringing dubstep more mainstream is a fool. Dubstep is already mainstream. Its not like it use to be, some guy like skream messing around in his basement when the scene was just starting an you had venues with a small number of people. We now have artist going international to tour, i would consider that "mainstream". Its like saying Post Hardcore is still underground.
I'm really into dubstep, not so much Skrillex, other than what he did with KoRn on there new album. I enjoy some Dj Fresh when i'm chilling at the house.
I'm not a fan of dubstep, but I do like Skrillex. Saying that though, I have only heard a couple of his songs or 'beats' (am I doing it right?), of which my favourite was 'Kill Everybody'. His remix on the Bring Me The Horizon remix album was good, but I can't stand his stuff with KoRn. It sounds dreadful to me.
Other than Skrillex, I hate dubstep. Makes me cringe.
From what I gather, the reason why Skrillex gets so much flak is cuz the British (whom forged dubstep to begin with) are jealous of his making it mainstream, whereas they are still struggling with obscurity.
I've recently began listening to dubstep as well as drum and bass... and unlike most trendy music scenes, I quite like it. Be it Brostep like Skrillex or original dubstep like Modestep, I like the ambiance it makes for some reason. Maybe cuz it's aliens?
Some dubstep is crap, some of it is good. It's like any genre. Some pop is bad, some good. Some rock is bad, some good. Etc.
I enjoy Skrillex's music. I did not know him before he got into the EDM scene. I think he genuinely loves music and has a ton of respect for it, though for some reason people seem to think the opposite. My current favorite song of his, off his newest album, is "Breakn A Sweat", where he collabs with members of The Doors (rock band formed in 1965, featuring vocalist Jim Morrison for those who don't recognize who that is).
Dubstep may be a little mainstream now, but should anyone be mad about that? You're pretty immature if you think it's okay to be mad about a genre receiving publicity.
Disco was huge in the 70's (BeeGee's, Chic, Donna Summer). Big Beat was huge in the mid 90's (Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, Fatboy Slim). In the late 90's, Eurodance was huge (Darude, Vengaboys, La Bouche). Outside of the US, Trance was huge in the early 2000's (Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold, Armin van Burren). Electro House got huge in the late 2000's (Deadmau5, Swedish House Mafia, Benny Benassi). Dubstep in the early 2010's (Skrillex, Rusko, Bassnectar)
So really, it wasn't even Skrillex that made it mainstream, EDM has always been there. Gotta hand it to adrenaline/hormone-fueled teenagers for their incredible ability to become obsessed with something and overhype it. It's not necessarily a bad thing on the whole, I used to be one (and sort of still am in my own way).
There's always people in anything that will turn you off about something. You don't watch football and love every single type of fan, though it's generally more accepted to do that than to like dubstep.
I've never been a fan of dupstep, despite a lot of people around here trying to get me to like it by playing it a lot. It's just not my thing.
To me "Skrillex" will always be Soony Moore.
Oh my, oh my! How can all you heathens be listening to this person when he is obviously the devil.
Skrillex Uses Satanic and Homosexual Influence to Win Grammys
I just read that Rowan, and it says that Skrillex is a lesbian fashionesta. WTF? Made me chuckle hahahaha.
its good for a laugh, haha. now that is pure ignorance, isnt it? shame on the person who wrote it.
Dubstep is really 'hit or miss' for me. Some songs are pretty catchy and will grow on you, while others are hot garbage. I like Skrillex's work but there are a few other producers who put out quality stuff (Datsik, Nero, Zedd's Dead, Rusko, etc).
