    Tim ****ing Burton!

Not really a fan of Tim Burton and I may be called prick for saying this, but his movies are solid at best, Edward Scissorhands including, oh snap, you went overboard with this one, Xanatos. I'm not here to bash this guy, I love how "weird" his movies usually are, which makes me wonder, what's your favorite Tim Burton movie?

I have fond memories of Sleepy Hollow, Christopher Walken used to scare shit out of me, hell, he still does. Never read the book but I hear Tim Burton's version of Sleepy Hollow is faithful to it's source which is a good thing. Personally, I wish there was more mystery to it and less supernatural, it's still a pretty good movie with great cast and nice little twist.

Oh, Mr. Burton. How wonderfully weird your movies can be~ I think that's part of their charm, though I understand if it's off-putting to folks. As for my favorites:

I enjoyed his Batman movies a lot. I watched them constantly when I was younger. Might need to give them a rewatch soon. ^^ I do love Jack Nicholson's Joker, and Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman.

I am a fan of Edward Scissorhands, mostly for the kickin' soundtrack, but it also has a pretty heartrending story, at least the final half is.

PeeWee's Big Adventure is hilarious. The premise is soooo silly (PeeWee Herman on a quest to find his missing bike), but it's entertaining the whole way through.

Beetlejuice is a classic. It had a great energy to it, and a fantastic performance from Micheal Keaton as the titular character that's made all the better when I found out that most of his lines were ad-libbed.

I may be an oddity but I am a huge fan of his animations specifically Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride. I am a sucker for stop motion animation to begin with because I had planned on going to school and learning it so Nightmare has always been close to my heart. Knowing that it took years of work to produce a 77 minute movie is pretty crazy.

I can't remember if Danny Elfman did music for the Corpse Bride but I know he did for Nightmare and he always does Burton's movies justice.

Outside of his animations though I'd say Big Fish is probably my favorite, he is a pretty unique storyteller for sure.

I'm not a big fan of him either. Although I did like Corpse Bride and Nightmare Before Christmas. I watched Sweeny Todd, could not get into that one. And I find it interesting that he always casts his wife and Johnny Depp in most of his films. Did he make Coraline? I actually really liked that

I'm definitely a fan of his. All time favorite? Nightmare Before Christmas, watch it at least once every year. I liked his Batman movies a great deal. I also thought his Alice in Wonderland was very well done, but I'm also a sucker for Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Alan Rickman.

    Re: Tim ****ing Burton!

Tim Burton has a rather strange fan base. Like, really ****ing weird. Most here seem to be really snobby, happy, punk people with highly developed opinions on everything you see around you. Not that being weird is a bad thing. The whole "I'll be your Sally to your Jack..." thing puts me off. Just that crowd makes me shudder just as much as the My Chemical Romance and the Neil Gaiman fan base (...I think they're the same thing).

His movies are alright I guess. I like Edward Scissorhands and Sleepy Hollow - I think those are my favourites, and I have no issues with them. Corpse Bride was... interesting, but not really in a good way. As for The Nightmare Before Christmas, even the levels in Kingdom Hearts II couldn't win me over. If I'm honest, stop-motion movies irritate my eyes, so my opinions are usually low of them anyway. I just couldn't get into them.

My thoughts about Burton are similar to others on here: I'm not a fan of the guy but I do appreciate, or acknowledge, his creativity and stuff. Even so, I quite enjoyed some of his works such as The Nightmare Before Christmas and Frankenweenie (not to be confused with the upcoming remake).

I don't have anything else to say except here's a video of Kevin Smith (director of Clerks, Red State, Mall Rats, Chasing Amy, etc) talking about Tim Burton and a funny story about how he was able to get Burton mad: Kevin Smith talks about Tim Burton - YouTube
