    There Will Be Blood

Anyone else a fan of this amazing movie?

It's probably not for everyone, and it can be kind of slow-paced at times, but I was mesmerized by the atmosphere and acting throughout. Daniel Day-Lewis is an unbelievably gifted actor and is obviously dedicated to his work. Moreso than almost any actor out there today, I'd wager.

I pretty much second this opening post, definitely NOT a film for everyone with its treacle-like pace, but I thought it was brilliant, it's hypnotic stuff right from the off and all the way through to the horrifying/grimly funny ending. And Daniel Day Lewis is great in the main role, portraying a man who slowly loses all the humanity in him as the film goes on and he becomes consumed by greed.

I loved the whole movie from start to finish. And I absolutely LOVED the ending. It kind of reminded me of Clockwork Orange in a way. It was kind of an awkward ending, but it fit. I'd watch it over and over and still be amazed every time.

I agree! I actually haven't seen A Clockwork Orange yet, but it's up on Netflix, so I'll make sure to watch it sometime soon. I love the ending, it's awkward, as you said, but it fits so well. Once you really think about Daniel Plainview as a character, I think the movie really becomes even better.

He's a man who ends up lost in his own insatiable appetite for sheer acquisition, and seeing it ruin him is fascinating in a grim sort of way.

My friend had the same exact, word for word description of the film lol, I liked the acting but I'd like to watch it again to get a better idea of it
