    The Social Network

Just saw this last night for the first time, and it was a pretty awesome film. Loved the soundtrack and the characters. Mark Zuckerberg has the personality in this movie of a snarky internet-age kid, who can whip out insults and retorts and is really clever and funny, but who probably doesn't make many friends in real life because of it. Reminded me of a story I read about a hacker/troll a couple years back, who could be pitied, but is a bit too much of a dick, and probably doesn't want it anyway. There are definitely some similarities to Citizen Kane, as I have read several reviews say online; it captivates you almost entirely with dialogue.

Plus, I really liked this line: "I love standing next to you, Sean. It makes me look so tough." Eduardo said it, and I thought, "Hell yeah." Also liked when the lady told Mark at the end that he wasn't an asshole, he was just trying really hard to be one. And I heard that the real Zuckerberg isn't entirely happy about his portrayal in this movie, so makes you wonder. Either way, Jesse Eisenberg was great in this, playing a very different character than I'm used to seeing him play (usually he's more like Michael Cera.) And I think Armie Hammer has got to be one of the most awesome names I've ever heard.

If I had seen it earlier, I probably would've mentioned it in that other thread about "Best and Worst movies of 2010" thread. Think I wanted to see it, but never did. Anyhoo...

I've seen it, and I have to say, after all the hype
I've heard about it, it turned out to be just a
mediocre movie for me. I mean I thought it was
pretty interesting how facebook came to be, all the
drama legal issues. But, it lacked.... something. I
    can't quite pin it down.

I agree with Moogle. Dont get me wrong it was worth watching but theres not a single character that can be empathized with(but I guess thats the point of the movie).

    Re: The Social Network

It's a movie about facebook. What more do you guys want? No cars are exploding or anything. I thought the drama was pretty damn good, considering it was an exaggeration. It was a movie about facebook, which was interesting because I was in that first million to sign up my freshman year of college. The movie wasn't bad at all, it was actually pretty solid as far as a plot goes.

You have to take it for what it is though. If you're going to write a movie based on your life, Moogle and smurphy, would you tell it how it is? No. Nobody would go see it/like it. You'd have to add some addition elements in there for it to be entertaining for others to watch.

I stream Bloodborne, FFXIV, and occasionally other games.

It is a fascinating tale about human frailty, the importance of our relationships, loyalty, and the nature of innovation. It is one of the few hype films to live up to its promise.

I'm with Walter, great film with a fantastic script. The score is very good too.

I heard it was supposed to be a quite a good movie, but a film about how FB came about doesn't interest me in the slightest, so I gave that film a miss.

I originally had no desire to see it. I don't give two farks about facec*ck or whatever it's called, but it did portray the founders as total arshelickens, which made it amusing.

However, the biggest reason I did see it was because it had Brenda Song in the cast. Dayum, she be smokin.
