Printing onto Fabric?
Im very interested in printing my own final fantasy t shirts, not to sell but just for mine and some of my friends personal wear. I have researched some ways on how to achieve this and I've learned that the best way to do so would be digital image printing with the use of a textile/inkjet printer. The problem is, textile printers are over $2,000, which is crazy considering as to how the primary function is fundementally the same as any inkjet printer worth $100, but with the modification of having a tray large enough to fit a t shirt or larger fabric into. I'm aware of how iron transfer paper works, and instead of printing onto the shirt, its more like a shiny sticker that gets put onto the shirt and it looks really bad. I have seen custom inkjet/home printers printing onto t shirts, but could find no instructions on how I would be able to construct my own. Does anyone here have any experience with digital to fabric ink printing and can give me any advice or tips on how to go about this? At the very least, just tell me what my options are.
