    Most Iconic Movie

In your opinion, what is it?

for me, it's easily Wizard of Oz. It's always been my favorite movie. the effects are so advanced for back then, not to mention it's the first movie ever made in color. And Judy Garland, Margaret Hamilton, etc are amazing.

My favorite movie (The Prestige) is relatively new and nowhere near as popular to be considered iconic, thus I'll go with my close second, The Shawshank Redemption. It's hard to believe this movie didn't won any of the major awards, it has all the elements of a timeless classic, superb cast, great score, deep, relevant, and emotional story.

The Prestige is indeed amazing since it's one of my top 5 movies of all time but nowhere near Iconic. Something iconic would be a movie like Gangs of New York (haven't seen it even tho I have it on my computer). The Shank is another iconic movie.

Most iconic movie for me is Casino. Great cast, great story about what it's like chasing a dream and how hard one can fail if he chases it too much. Not just how a casino owner can fail, but how people in general live their lives just for chasing theirs and losing all their money at casinos, how much an illusion they live in and what vices really turn a machine as big as Las Vegas. The movie is awesome, funny, dark, and memorable.

One of the most iconic movies out there IMO is the whole Back to the Future trilogy. All of them told a good story, kinda paralleled with each other in different ways, and the characters are very memorable and the soundtrack was very great. Its one of those series you keep wanting to come back to and it is very enjoyable each and every time.

I never got into those movies. Terminator on the other hand kicked ass.

One of the most memorable and epic movies from my childhood that I loved like no other was Empire Strikes Back. That movie made me go insane for SW stuff. Saw it in a theater when I was around 6.

Eh, I enjoyed Terminator 2 more (except for that squeaky kid >_>)

I'd have to say Mortal Kombat. I can STILL quote most of the lines from memory, and it was the first movie I saw with fighting in it, plus, awesome soundtrack

    Ah, iconic, right...

Could 'The Matrix' be considered iconic, then?

Robin Shou is so sezzy..... lmao I liked MK2 better, personally.

You know in the MK: Legacy Web Series the dude that played DK in "Fast & Furious 3" is, I believe, the new Liu Kang? I saw the trailer recently and I could almost swear it's him. I've just been too lazy to dig up the details.

What?!? MK2 was so agonizing! Most of those villains were defeated too easily. That woman with 4 arms didn't even get to fight, she got squashed by a cage with Katana in it.
The acting also took a dive.
Oh well, though. To each her own, eh?

Really? THAT guy? I didn't know he knew how to fight!

Is Cinderella Man iconic? I'm pretty sure Gladiator was...

Wait wait wait. I -did- like Bridgette Wilson better as Sonya though. And the Raiden in MK1 too.

Annnd yep. It's him. I didn't know he could fight either. Pretty shocking. It's a shame this web series is only like 10 minutes long per episode. -_-;;; They're actually really well made.

Pulp Fiction, though. C'mon. You don't even need to have seen the film to recognise the majority of Pulp Fiction references. Or recognise its poster for that matter:

Well, my favorite movies of all time are the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which (mostly) successfully took the books that modern fantasy takes most of its inspiration from and put them into movie format. They also made fantasy movies in general cool again, as well as getting us to kinda be okay with sitting through a 3+ hour movie. Those are up there.

    HOWEVER

I would say either The Godfather or Citizen Kane is the most iconic movie of all time. Citizen Kane heavily influenced modern film, and The Godfather was The Godfather. But THEN you also have DIRTY HARRY, who was like the godfather of modern action movie heroes, Animal House, which was the inspiration for so many party animal movies, Pot Shot, one of the best underdog sports movies, Star Wars for sci-fi, etc....

Fuck it. Lord of the Rings. (Comparing every movie across all genres is kinda comparing apples and oranges anyway...) Anyhoo...

A timeless classic 'To Kill A Mockingbird'. The movie explored issues(still prevalent today)that society was not confronting in a sensitive and insightful manner. It also graced us with one of the most iconic characters in cinematic history, Atticus Finch. With his strong sense of morality and justice, He stands up for the defenseless even when such a stance is unpopular. That is possibly the greatest ideal to have in our society and on a personal level, the one I value the most. Both the book and the movie deserve to be "Iconic" in the highest regard I think.
