The Lego Movie

I went and saw it last night. It was pretty enjoyable: imaginative, charming, and silly. I suppose there were a lot of cliches, but they were over the top and silly in their delivery, nothing you could get mad about. Emmet and Wildstyle reminded me of Fry and Leela from Futurama, quite a bit really. Will Arnett was awesome as Batman, and he didn't actually remind me of Will Arnett in this role except for one line that sounded like something Gob Bluth would say. Nick Offerman doesn't even sound like Nick Offerman, voicing the pirate character. My absolute favorite was Uni-Kitty though. Although I can't help but feel that someone like Tara Strong or Andrea Libman would've been a better choice for that voice. You can't use actual voice actors/actresses for a major Hollywood film, though! Celebrity Voice Overs are necessary!

But yeah, it was cute.

It's a lot of bonkers fun, especially Batman. Really enjoyed it.
