I've just read Princess Ai vol 1-3 and just finished Princess Ai The Prism of Midnight Dawn and love it like crazy! It's a great manga series and I want to finish the rest of it
right now im currently reading vampire knight. cant wait till the new chapter is out! =o
I just finished reading the final chapter of 'bitter virgin' and I can honestly say that it's by far the best manga i've read for a long time. The story is very honest and at times quite heart warming. It does however have some quite dark themes, but it's a story about the emotional scars that such trauma has upon someone and what it takes to deal with those wounds.
Franken Fran. I haven't quite finished it yet. Truly I started reading it for the lols...oddly enough didn't get many. Actually it's very creepy. VERY gory, if you don't like blood or guts, stay clear.
now i'm reading Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler in English version).
it is a greeeeeeaaattttt~ manga! ^o^
i'm waiting for vol.3 of the manga
Currently Boku no Hatsukoi wo Kimi ni Sasagu, until chapter 30 which was they had until
and this other random manga with another one of those sad beginning as the main character is being bullied and such :/
I've heard many good things about Fushigi Yuugi so I decided to give it a try and so far it's pretty great. Also I have something to read while I wait for the new chapters of few manga that I'm currently reading.
i just read the previews of three mangas: kimikiss, bloody kiss, and UB Rose and they were all really good and want to read all of it now!
I got Hitman Reborn vol. 1 and 2. I want the rest of the volumes, but I'm re-reading volume 1 for now.
"Emma" by Kaoru Mori.
It's about a shy maid... She met a gentleman from a rich family and they fall in love. But, because of their status differences, they can't be with each other. One day, the maid's master suddenly died, and she had to go somewhere else... Leaving her lover behind.
It's pretty touching story, actually.
I'm looking for a new manga to read, i love the thriller aspect of death note and like up beat fighting like in DBZ Fullmetal Alchemist and Bleach. Any Suggestions
WilsonDean1990, while I've never read any of its manga incarnations, Code Geass sounds like it would be right up your alley. The main character is quite similar to Light from Death Note, fighting for his righteous goals in a morally ambiguous way, and the series has a lot of the same edge-of-your-seat suspense moments in it. It's a mecha series, too, technically, so it has a good number of battles to balance out the drama. Some of the main characters are high schoolers, though, and the school antics sometimes seem a bit boring, but, unlike DBZ or Bleach, it's not as pointless as the filler in those series can become.
The series was a two-season anime, but there are three manga series based off if it. The original, based off of the show (and sharing its name) is Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. They also have two other versions right now with the subtitles "Suzaku of the Counterattack" and "Nightmare of Nunnaly." Like I said, I've never read the manga, though, so I can't vouch for them 100%, but the anime, at the very least, is pretty great.
Anyway, since I haven't posted in this thread for over a year and a half, the things I'm currently reading include:
-FullMetal Alchemist (still going strong! Vol. 21 came out here last month and it looks like the series is finally drawing towards a close, but what a close it will be!
-Neon Genesis Evangelion: Shinji Ikari Raising Project (another alternate universe manga for Eva! I like this one's art more than Angelic Days. The third volume should be coming out this month if I'm not mistaken)
-Pluto (vol. 7 of 8 should be out in January and I can't wait.)
-20th Century Boys (vol. 7 is out this month, but I've yet to pick it up)
(Yes, you can see the connection with the last two and my previous post: After finishing up Monster, I moved on to Naoki Urasawa's newer works, which began publication here as soon as Monster finished. I'm loving every second of them! ^_^)
Also, I'm actually reading GTO: Shonan 14 Days as the chapters (slowly) come out in Japan. They've only published 17 chapters (plus two bonus chapters) so far, but it's great to have new Onizuka material, especially since Tokyopop went under and I can't continue with Shonan Jun'ai Gumi (despite only 10 of the 15 volumes getting released here)
And lastly, there are the series I'm still theoretically reading, but am relegated to waiting indefinite amounts of time until the next volumes come out. Those include:
-Neon Genesis Evangelion (Still waiting for the final[?] 12th volume to come out, but as it's not even out in Japan yet, I'm not holding my breath)
-Trinity Blood (with the release of vol. 11 over the summer, I think we're pretty much current with Japan, so, once again, new releases in the States are dependent on new releases in Japan
-Hellsing (the end is finally near! The 10th and final volume should be out here this coming April!) :D
Yeah..! What chapter are you now? Or did you stop reading it..?
I'am now on chapter 27 (voLume 5) of Fushigi Yuugi.. Long way to go..
I've been comparing the manga version to it's T.V series version.. and I must say.. there's no difference at aLL.. except for that, some scenes (just a LittLe) were cut-off (some scenes in the beginning) and that Miaka (the main character) have a quite number of hairstyLe on the manga version.. but stiLL.. she keep her doubLe bun hairstyLe when she wear her uniform.. aLL characters stiLL kept their originaL styLe and Looks.. no difference, which is good..!
just finished reading the 3rd book of the dragonball series
I have been trying to balance manga reading with my anime watching. Right now I am currently reading Blackcat. I was watching the anime when I remembered that I have the complete manga set. So I started reading it. Only manga I am reading right now, to busy watching anime's to read anything else...
I'm currently doing a shojou thing and reading all the classics for shojous like Hana-kimi and odd vague ones like Kamisama Hajimemashita
and of course I'm doing 2/3rds of the shonen trilogy Bleach and Naruto
I am actually currently reading Bleach, I don't know why I have never started until now it is so funny and awesome, I bought the first manga a while ago and I wanted a break from my books so I read it and couldn't put it down.
But I have a problem I don't have the ching ching to go buy the rest so problem solved with the magic of the world wide web so I am hooked with that now.
i just finished reading Neon Genesis Evangelion Iron Maiden 2nd.
and now still reading Black Butler vol. 6 and Pandora Hearts vol.6
Oh Emma is on my list. The story is good, but kinda heavy because of its conflicts. Overall 9/10
By the way.. I just finished reading Usami Maki's Bus For Spring. Sweet and funny stories are packed on four volumes. All of the stories consist bus, or bus stop, anything that related to bus. I laughed and cried when reading it!
I'm currently reading Kieli. I'm half way through the first volume right now and it's pretty good so far. I've got Volume 2 sitting on my manga shelf, so at least I've got more to read when I'm done with this volume. I hate finishing volumes without the next volume to read afterwards :(
Im reading "Lament of the Lamb" , "Blade of the Immortal" and "Shaman King"
Shaman King is great but with every new chapter it gets stupider -.-
Currently reading through the Jump stuff mainly at the moment. Haven't really branched out beyond that. My usual weekly manga routine involves...
One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Air Gear, Fairy Tail and Reborn.
Amongst others. Really enjoyed Eyeshield 21, kinda wish they hadn't stopped that one.
About to start on Lovely Complex 17 (final volume) and then Honey and Clover 9. Last one I read was 20th Century Boys 7.
I'am Reading
Bleach (Currently Waiting Next Volume)
Naruto (Currrently Waiting Next Volume)
Fullmetal Alchemist (Currently Waiting Next Volume)
Dragonball (Read)
Dragonball Z (Read)
Death Note (Read)
Any Recomendations of what i can read while i'm waiting for volumes to be released
Due the fact that I've missed almost every episode of Shaman King while it was airing on few local channels I decided to read the manga, I've read five chapters so far and seeing as it has over 300 it will keep me occupied while I wait for the new chapters of Naruto and Bleach.
Currently i am reading.
1. naruto
2. bleach
3. one piece
4. D. Gray-man
5. gintama
6. air gear
7. hellsing
I'm currently starting One Piece again (I only got up to about chapter 10 the first time) From Chapter 1, I'm currently at chapter 100, and have'nt been reading (mainly because i came a member of TFF and that took over my Manga reading time ~SOB~).
Reading Pandora Hearts online, chapter 11.
I finished reading FullMetal Alchemist, read the entire manga in few days. I'm on chapter 76 of Shaman King, reading it in rather slow place as it's not that really interesting. Quit on the History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, going to wait til it's finished. Also finished reading Digimon Adventure V-Tamer, and Digimon Next which are goddamn terrible by the way, biggest waste of my time. Right now I'm looking for a good manga to read next, few tittles caught my attention.
