Wow, the irony.
mega spoiler so do not read unless you have seen season 5 episode 8.
Spoiler:
After all hanks efforts, 5 seasons worth of trying to find out who heisenberg is, he realizes while he's having a shit.
I am glad I got to see the entire first half of this season before leaving. My math was wonky; thought it was ending the week after I left for some reason, initially. Probably because a month is longer than 4 weeks. Now gotta wait a whole damn year though....
Anyhoo...SPOILER!!:
Wuv, Yer Mom
I loved pretty much everything about this last episode to date.
**** it, I'm not going to do spoiler tags, so stop reading if you haven't seen the latest ep.
I think that Walt made a horrible decision that will only come back to haunt him by taking Mikes body back to dissolve it. Sure, it gives the audience that finality and knowing that Mike is officially dead, but still, it was a bad call, since nobody was going to miss Mike or even really find him. Now, Todd knows that Mike is gone, and I can't really trust him at this point. He seems both too dumb and too smart at the same time.
As for the prison killings. I thought the scene was brilliant. Juxtapose the murders with some smooth jazz and it really is a hauntingly beautiful scene. Especially as Walt is just standing there looking at his watch. It really goes to show how far he's changed just to cover his own ass, and I suppose Jesse's too.
Everything else was just so well done. I loved how Jesse had no idea how to handle Walt when he came to his door. Clearly Jesse was expecting Walt was going to kill him, or else he wouldn't have had the gun in his waistband. As for the money Walt gave him, I'm not sure if that was Jesses cut from the original deal, or if it was Walts version of an apology and parting ways with him.
I also just love the Walt character in general. He weaves that line of liking and absolutely hating him so well. Sure he does a lot of horrible things, but it's hard to hate him when you see him vulnerable getting an MRI or playing with Holly. And then you see him dressed as Heisenberg, wearing that hat and the shades, ready to kill Lydia if he has to, with the ricin. Something about her tells me that she simply won't go away. I think she's going to play some kind of role in the showdown that they clearly alluded to in the season opener.
I also thought it was typical Walt to have something like the Walt Whitman book bite him in the ass. He's so good at planning everything, so long as it goes exactly the way he sees it going. It's almost too perfect that he would leave something as innocuous as a book on his toilet, because honestly, who would think that Hank would pick up Walt Whitman of all authors, and thumb through it to find what ties everything together.
At the same time, what can Hank really say or do? Yes, he has his suspicions, but he's already been told by his superiors to put the whole meth thing to rest, since Gus is dead. Sure, with the prison murders, there should be reason enough to reopen the case, but chances are, Hank will have to go vigilante if he wants to bring Walt down. That's a little difficult since he benefitted from it, since Walt paid for his super expensive stint in rehab, which was paid for in "gambling earnings".
My guess is that Walt either goes in some kind of witness protection (hence the NH id and license plates), or he calls up Sauls guy who can make anyone disappear from the grid. However, Walt is clearly back in New Mexico, since at the start of the season, the waitress says he's a long way from home. The M60 he buys from the gun guy really makes me think that he's returned for some kind of showdown. My guess is with either the Arizona cartel, or with Todds people.
Why? Oh man, I can't wait to find out. Either Jesse or his family is being threatened, is my guess

I think what Hank found was actually proof as opposed to evidence. It read
To my other favourite WW (so it cant be walt witman as the excuse walt used in season 4) and it was signed G.B (gale bedecker).
Im no cop or anything, but theres no other explanation as to why Walt would have that book in his posession.
Dont you agree?
Mike had family. We know he has a good relationship with his granddaughter, and I'd assume he has some sort of relationship with the girl's parents. When the DEA are coming for him, Mike has to leave the park without saying goodbye to his granddaughter, and then all of a sudden goes missing. That seems like enough of a reason for somebody to start looking for him. I think it makes sense for Walt to dispose of the body.
FAKE EDIT: Also, great half season, I hate this damn show for making me wait until next summer to see what happens between Walt and Hank.
Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."
Crao Porr Cock8. Bitch.
You have to factor in Mikes quote from earlier though, about having to be able to pick up and leave everything behind. And when you look at a guy like Mike, and you know that while his record may be clean, there are certainly allusions to some shady things from his past. They never mention what exactly happened when he was a cop in Philly, but you can assume it was something bad. His family could assume that maybe something from his past came back and he had to go into hiding, since he was living clean as far as the public could tell

Too long I probably did read most of it; I had a friend whom I had catch up go and text me the complete spoiler to the end of the last eps...
I'm going to break it all down for you now in case you don't want to hear what's coming. Walt's going to die! As soon as he whacked, Mike(?) the girl's grandfather he made that soul binding rule #1: if you kill u're bound to be killed. Walt will never go to jail. What do you think will happen to his family?! You understand now he is going to die..
Quick reminder; best drama ever.
Walking Dead went alil sci-fi with that samurai chick and her two armless zombies w/ mouth gags to detour off her own scent.
Spoilers, dont read
To be honest i wasn't enjoying the show as much as everybody else up until the recent season, some of the prior seasons were weak in parts. But this season is running much more smoothly, i cant wait till the last episode.
Like Pete said, each scene is great, thats what im loving about this season, each scene feels solid with story or emotion, none of it feeling like filler. I loved the scene where Jesse is looking at the news of the missing kid and hes having trouble coping and Walt sends him home, and just how he reacts to walt going to work whistling without a bother, really highlighted the change in Walts character.
And as soon as Hank went into the toilet i knew he was gonna find something, I cant really remember alot of the previous seasons, i forgot the other cook gave him that book. I kinda wished they handled him finding out alot better, like a build up, instad of him literally finding out on the shitter.. but we will see what happens. Cant wait for the next episode!

I have to second this. First season in particular was rather slow and dull, I'm kinda glad I decided to continue further as it got better with every new episode. With that being said it was only late in third season where the show really kicked off for me.
I've been watching Breaking Bad non stop these last few days, I still have few episodes left to catch up with you guys. One of the most memorable/shocking scenes for me is when Gus dies, simply gruesome. The world finally saw what two face bastard he really was. I really like development/growth of Jesse's character, Walt on the other hand is becoming more cold harted and I fear will be consumed by his own "meth addiction".
Sig and Avy made by Unknown Entity
Nix, I actually liked the way he discovered it. It's pretty spot on for Walt, with his arrogance and maybe his way of simply thinking he's got it all figured out and under control. In his mind, who would look at a book on his toilet, and on top of that, who would make the connections between Whitman, W.W., G.B., Walt, Gale and the meth production?
It makes sense to me, and I love how the scene left off, because Hank KNOWS now. I can only imagine how the next scene carries out. Does Hank come out storming, does he just sit on it and try to legitimize the connections to bring the whole operation down, or does he simply pull Walt aside and tell him that he knows?
The beauty of BB, is that even if we talk about this for the next 9 months or so and come up with a hundred different theories, I'm sure everything will still blow our minds and be nothing like what we expect.

I just felt like that episode went way smoother than I thought it would in general. Jesse didn't find out or try to step in, the killings went off without a hitch, and the business went on for 3 months until Walt decided he was done (although can he really be done?) When Hank found the book, I was like "Oh SNAP." I'm excited to see what he will do next, because A. Walter is family, B. Walter has been doing this under his nose for over a year, C. Drug money paid for his rehabilitation, so he's implicated, D. Look what he did to Jesse that one episode. Will he act without thinking and beat the tar out of Walter, will he confront Walter on it, only to have Walter threaten blackmail if he talks, or will he keep it a secret until he can figure out what to do next? Or none of the above? I have a feeling the shit is gonna hit the fan though, because the first half of a season generally seems to be a bit slower than the second half as a rule.
Bringing up Season 1, I really enjoyed it. It was like a dark comedy more than it was a tragic drama back then. It had its serious moments, but most of the characters I still liked, especially Walt. I think back to this scene (I wish it had more before this part; Hank's analogy that no one got, lol)):
This scene, Walt's speech really touched me when I first saw it. I really felt for his character back then, and it's stuff like this that probably made me turn a blind eye to "Oh yeah, he's cooking meth." Even through the second and third season, when he's going through the separation with Skylar, I was thinking "What a bitch!" Even though she was totally in the right probably, heh. Now, it's just like, "Oh, you evil man... you're scary." There's not the same character left. Also, first season, Skylar was the somewhat humorous housewife still. Second season, she gets all catty and cold. Always loved Hank (except maybe the first episode?) and Jesse was like the comic relief. Marie and Walt Jr. haven't changed much at all. But yeah; totally different tone. Not better or worse, really. Anyhoo...

So, I watched the first episode of this show a couple of days ago, and I gotta say, I can't believe I didn't watch it sooner! I like the fact that it didn't take long for Walt to actually decide to cook meth. Most other shows would probably spend waaay too much time weighing in on the the moral shit before getting good, but nope. This one just dives right in!
Since I only seen that one episode, I don't have much else to say. Just gonna have to watch more and hopefully I'll be caught up by the time the later half of the last season airs.

I still have troubles watching (live action?) series.
For some reason I just can't ever get into them. For whatever reason.
Although I do watch this show from time to time. One of my really good friends loves the show, he tells me when to watch an episode so that I see all the good parts and he just explains whats going on while I watch.
Works for me.
