Well Bleach the anime was catching up to the manga all they could do was either stop making episodes or start doing filler. I don't know why they did not pick a better time to do it at like before going to Heuco Mondo. But something had to be done at some point they were just getting too close. Once they finish up this filler arc they will probably resume the Arrancar Arc and Heuco Mondo. Makes me wonder how long the manga's current arc will keep going.
