X-Men: First Class
I haven't seen a lot of good ones myself, for those who have if you wish you may include animated movies as well.
As much as Marvel fan in me screams "don't do it you bloody traitor" I always go back to The Dark Knight. This fine piece of art is in my opinion the very pinnacle of comic book movies. It has everything a man wants in a movie, intriguing story, great characters and buttload of epic scenes, all enveloped in epic score by none other than Hans Zimmer, arguably the best composer outthere. What impressed me the most though, still does actually, is Heath Ledger's performance who in my opinion managed to surpass the man many consider to be one and only Joker, Jack Nicholson himself.
X-Men: First Class is my close second, best X-Men movie for sure or if you like, best Marvel movie so far. It came as a most pleasant surprise considering the entire project didn't look promising at all. Michael Fassbender continued where Ian Mckellen left off making my favorite comic book "villain" even better.
There's no way in hell I can leave out Spiderman 2, it had the biggest impact on me out of all comic book movies. Perhaps I'm exaggerating on this one, but up to that point we had some good comic book movies, but none as ambitious and great as Spiderman 2.
One people often tend to forget when such subject occurs is Sin City, unique movie to say the least with interesting characters and separate but equally good plots. I simply had to include Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, otherwise I feel Telegraph would kick my ass. It's an entertaining movie with tons of little details you simply can't notice in one sitting. Watchmen is another favorite of mine, love how the story unfolds, Ozymandias instantly became one of my all time favorite villains, certainly most intelligent one. 300, along with Watchmen, has to be the most faithful movie to it's original source. It's an epic tale full of, I would often say unnecessary gore, this time though it was all good, and some of the best lines in film I ever heard.
... that's about it for now.

I almost feel a bit silly posting in this considering I don't read comics, so I can't really talk about the films being close to their source, etc. But I'll give my opinions anyhow.
Kick-Ass is one of my favourite films, it's absolutely brilliant I reckon. It has everything from great characters, a great story and hilarious comedy. The acting is also superb.
I really like Scott Pilgrim, too. The music is great and so is the acting. I think this film has a really unique style to it, it's in a true comic book style.
I also liked Thor and 300, a lot more than I thought I would actually. Thor was really funny and I just found myself really engaged in 300.
LOVED V for Vendetta, one of my top movies but I haven't read the books/comics. I didn't know until after. A great message within that movie.
I very much enjoyed Sin City too. Haven't read the comics but I loved it enough as a film entity to buy it on DVD which I rarely do. I loved the level of gore in it not too much but not too little for my tastes. The characters were great, diverse and I loved how each had their own gripping backstory. My favourites were the tales of Nancy Callahan and Hartigan and the action between Dwight and Gail.
I voted Dark Knight! Its one of my favourite movies of all time, not just as a comic book film. I watched the Dark Knight Rises yesterday......Im a little letdown Im afraid for me personally but thats all I'll say for now. The Dark Knight however is the one of the best films made. Ever. I would go into detail about how great it is but I won't allow myself to stopXD

The Dark Knight is also one of my favorite movies ever. Heath Ledger as the Joker stands as one of my favorite villains ever. Not only that though, but the story was complicated with lots of twists that I honestly didn't see coming the first time around. Harvey Dent was another great character, as was Sal Maroni and the rest of Gotham's gangsters, and then returning characters like Commissioner Gordon, Luscious Fox, and Alfred. I also liked the cameo Scarecrow had at the beginning of the movie. It was an epic.
I also voted for X-Men: First Class, The Watchmen, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and Spider-Man 2, although I don't think any of those are on equal footing, though I loved them all. If we were including movies based on manga, I'd put Akira up there too; it introduced me to anime and was another epic with lots of interesting characters, a strange, interesting plot, and cool action sequences. The soundtrack was also crazy. Some would say that it should have been more faithful to the manga, and while I'd say that yeah, it wasn't that faithful, I still think it's very worthwhile on its own merits. Anyhoo...

You shouldn't have left out Batman Begins or the Dark Knight Rises. Both were better then the Dark Knight. It would be a tie between Begins and Rises. They were both equally as good as the other. I don't know if I would consider them "comic book" movies, though, and that's why the entire trilogy are the best comic book movies of all time. They take comic book characters and comic book story arch, and make them feel like a realistic crime drama. Not like a super hero movie.
I also voted for the Watchmen. That was a fantastic movie. I thought it held up pretty well to the graphic novel. That movie has a great set of characters, a really cool story, and is just totally kick ass.
I also threw in a vote for Captain America. He's one of my favorite super heroes of all time, and I thought his film was fantastic.
I would have also voted for The Crow, but that wasn't one of the choices.
wasn't 300 based off a true story? I didn't know it was a comic to.. great way to bring history to life though.
I went with X-men 1st class, I get a kick out of all the X-men movies, Used to do a lot of collecting back when they were hot comics/cards. I even got a Stan Lee auto-graphed comic of the Magneto Wars or w/e it was called where Wolverine had his adamantium removed by Magneto. Those movies just keep getting better each new release.
I voted for a 3rd but I honestly can't remember which but I am going to just say Dark Knight was undeniably great. but they really don't follow the comics at all(I really hope that Bane would break Batman's back like when they met in the comic but there's no way anyone would agree with me that that would make a good ending. Especially when they announced this is the last one for the triquel, lol.) and I don't care they were all great.
You didn't mention Crows Zero, but that was Japanese so I don't expect many of the viewers here to recognize it. Very cool, I suggest you all check that movie out if you like fighting-action flicks.
Omfg thankyou for reminding me! I absolutely LOVED the Crows Zero movies I knew about the comics but didn't get round to reading them. Still waiting on an announcement for Crows Zero 3 but the first one would be my fave out the two. Overall they're 2nd after the Dark Knight
I had to make it as diverse as possible and as you know the poll limits me to 15 spots only. I have yet to see Dark Knight Rises, though I hear it's heavily inspired by Batman Begins which I simply adore. Seeing as Nolan used huge part of Year One comics Batman Begins is probably most faithful to it's original source out of all Batman movies, not including the animated ones. I simply love the way Nolan made Ra's al Ghul immortal without using lazarus pit, Cillian Murphy was outstanding as Dr. Jonathan Crane.
For the most part 300 is indeed based on a true story, which is also seen in Frank Miller's graphic novel by the same name. It's amazing to say the least how visually identical the movie is to it's original source.
I'll get a lot of hate for saying this, I personally couldn't stomach Akira. I found characters to be rather dull, the entire story is weird and downright stupid, I hear manga's a lot better.
Seeing as there's no image I'm still waiting for an answer.

Image is showing fine in my post and your quote body, ill attach a different incase its a regional issue.
It's "Hellboy" anyway if it doesn't work again, pretty sure this happened last time around you made one of these threads
This image I see. Anyways, I can't believe I forgot to put Hellboy up there. I've only seen the second one, The Golden Army, it's pretty good, Ron Perlman was born for this role.

Can't believe you didn't spoiler tag that part! If I hadn't already seen the movie before, I would have been soooo mad. Actually, I probably wouldn't know who you were talking about...
Not too into comics, so I can't really tell how close the movies are to the source material either, but I recently went to go see The Amazing Spider-man, and it was SO GOOD. Might just be my favorite live-action film (based on a comic), but of course I haven't seen the Dark Knight Rises yet, so...who knows if it will change! It most likely will.
