I'm gonna have to go with charliepanayi and say that Cowboy Bebop had the best ending. I also liked Full Metal Alchemists ending as it left room for the movie.

Spoiler: Gantz has the best ending only because all of the characters I hated died at the end. Serves them right for being soft. Kei is my hero....

When I first heard this, it gave me goosebumps from head to toe. Watching this (now) after a Fairy Tail episode ends kinda leaves me with the feeling I wanna cry every time when I think about Lucy's past. Very HQ anime ending.
