World Transfer Service Explained

Yoshida talked about the much looked forward World Transfer feature players have been waiting for. In brief, the first five days of its availability will be free to all users, but afterword will be a fee. There will naturally be more trouble if you're trying to transfer into a server that is full or near full, due to log-in congestion.

Part of the work, they are going to be adding more servers, likely available to transfer to as well, to help lighten the stress on more active servers. Up to 8 characters can be transferred at the same time, but they have to be to the same world. If you want to transfer to two different worlds certain characters it will be two transfers. For names, if someone exists in the world transferring in with the same name, they get priority and you will need to change.

There are some requirements before transferring as well. The character(s) cannot be part of a FC, have no items in the market, logged out and there will be limits on the amount of gil that will transfer. The gil limits is to restrict RMT movements.
