    News Post Patch 2.3 Notes for New Changes

    Like with any of the patches, they are also changing and modifying things. Sometimes it is buffs or nerfs to classes/jobs or just new things added to existing content. The tomestones from dungeons and other bigger rewards. There are sometimes name changes. This lists everything that has been changed.


    Up to three quests will now be displayed when undertaking beast tribe daily quests.


    Guildleves


    The starting location and spawning points for enemies and objects in the guildleve From Ruins to Riches have been adjusted.



    Rush grass can now be obtained as a reward from timeworn toadskin maps.

    Company actions have been adjusted as follows:

    After changing Grand Company allegiance, the waiting period before another transfer can be made has been reduced from 30 days to 15 days (Earth time).

    The Chocobos section, as well as the rights to stable chocobos and train members' chocobos, have been added to the Housing tab of the Authorization window under Rank.



    Sightseeing Log vistas that require fair or clear weather can now be recorded when either weather condition is met.

    The Challenge Log has been adjusted as follows:

    The aesthetician can now be summoned to inn rooms using the Crystal Bell.

    Players can now enjoy mini-games in inn rooms using the Toy Chest.

    Upon completing the side story quest A case of Indecency, players will unlock the Parley mini-game.

    With the addition of these buildings, further adjustments have been made as follows:

    The NPC Rowena has been relocated.



    An Ixal settlement has been established in the East Shroud (X:24 Y:22).

    * The settlement's interior will not be accessible in patch 2.3.

    Arcanist Bio II MP cost has been reduced.
    Summoner Aerial Slash Casting time has been reduced from 3 to 0 seconds, making the cast instant.
    Flaming Crush Potency has been increased from 105 to 110.
    Crimson Cyclone Potency has been increased from 105 to 110.

    Bonus gil granted by duties below level 50 when one or more party members are new to the instance has been increased.

    The Striking Tree (Hard) has been added to Duty Roulette: Trials.

    When joining Duty Roulette as a party, abandoning the duty within the first 10 minutes will incur a penalty.

    * Only the first player to leave the instance will receive a penalty.

    Parties containing one or more members who have been penalized for abandoning a duty will be unable to register for duties via the Duty Finder.

    Duties listed in the Duty Finder can now be sorted by level, in ascending or descending order.

    * Duty Roulette categories cannot be sorted.

    Changes to the Join Party in Progress and Language settings in the Duty Finder interface will now be saved.

    In the event that all party members are incapacitated during the following trials, players will now receive the power of the Echo:

    Requirement

    Players are incapacitated after having battled enemies for a certain period of time.

    Echo Effect

    Increased HP, damage dealt, and healing potency
    The effect will be granted in five stackable stages.

    The Whorleater (Hard)

    Each stack of the echo will raise attributes by 10% up to a maximum of 50%. Players must have battled their foe for at least three minutes in order to receive the power of the Echo.

    Thornmarch (Extreme) / The Whorleater (Extreme)

    Each stack of the echo will raise attributes by 5% up to a maximum of 25%. Players must have battled their foe for at least three minutes in order to receive the power of the Echo.

    The power of the Echo granted in the Binding Coil of Bahamut has been augmented.

    The Echo will take effect upon entering the Binding Coil of Bahamut, increasing players' maximum HP, damage dealt, and healing magic potency by 20%.

    * Unlike other instances, the Echo will not gain strength upon total party incapacitation.
    * The Echo will not be granted in Turn 3.
    * The Echo will not be strengthened in future updates.

    The item level sync system has been added.

    When undertaking a duty utilizing item level sync, the item level of any gear exceeding the maximum item level will be adjusted accordingly. Unlike character level sync, however, gear parameters will not be subject to further reduction beyond that brought about by the item level decrease.

    In order to ensure participants are evenly matched, materia bonuses, as well as the Morale parameter, will be ignored while item level sync is in effect.
    * Restrictions will not apply to the use of player actions or traits.

    As of patch 2.3, item level sync will be applied to the following PvP instances:

    The Wolves' Den (Matched, IL 80) / The Wolves' Den (Light Party, IL 80) / The Carteneau Flats: Borderland Ruins (IL 80)


    Following the addition of Frontline, the rewards for participating in the Wolves' Den have been changed.

    Say, Shout, and Yell chat channels can now be used in the Wolves' Den.

    As in Frontline campaigns, only players on the same team can see messages used in these chat channels.

    The limit break gauge will now deplete when parties are not engaged in combat in Frontline or the Wolves' Den.

    Players can now purchase 1485 Wolf Marks for one copy of The Fury's Anthem from Aelina in Mor Dhona at Revenant's Toll (X:22 Y:6).

    The FATEs "Run Like a Flame" and "Taken" have been relocated.

    With this change, these two FATES can now occur at the same time.

    The chance of a FATE occurring will increase the more time passes since its last occurrence, increasing the overall frequency of FATEs.

    The Ahriman skill Level 5 Petrify will now affect all players within its area of effect, rather than only those facing the enemy.

    The functionality of ground targeting on uneven surfaces has been improved.

    The spawning locations of certain monsters in Coerthas Central Highlands have been adjusted.

    The level 38 will-o'-the-wisps found in the Ogre's Belly in Coerthas Central Highlands have been renamed will-o'-the-wykes.

    Players can now reset their chocobo companion's skill points using reagan peppers.

    Reagan peppers can be purchased with company seals or Allied Seals from the Grand Company headquarters in each city-state.

    When summoned to battle, chocobo companions will now receive beneficial effects when using the following foods:

    By completing the quest "Simply to Dye For," players can speak with Kakalan in Mor Dhona at Revenant's Toll (X:22 Y:5) to exchange artifact armor, along with the appropriate augmentation item, for augmented artifact armor. Unlike regular relic armor, augmented artifact armor can be dyed any color of your choice.



    A beast tribe reputation of neutral or greater is now required to enlist the services of the repair NPCs found at beast tribe settlements.

    Acquired Level: Level 22
    Unhook a fish (including all those of the same type subsequently caught at your current location) and release it back into the wild.


    New big fish have been added to fifty fishing spots ranging from level 20 to level 45.

    Certain previously unmoochable fish can now be used for mooching.

    The following trials and raids will now count toward certain achievements that require the completion of high-level full party duties:

    The Howling Eye (Extreme) / The Navel (Extreme) / The Bowl of Embers (Extreme) / The Whorleater (Extreme) / Thornmarch (Extreme) / The Striking Tree (Extreme) / The Binding Coil of Bahamut (excluding Turn 3) / The Second Coil of Bahamut / The Second Coil of Bahamut (Savage)

    * As new duties are implemented and the difficulty of pre-existing duties is adjusted, the requirements for these achievements may be adjusted with each patch.

    Retainer ventures have been adjusted as follows.

    A new exploration has been added for all retainer types.
    With the addition of a new exploration, the requirements for Highland Exploration XIII, Woodland Exploration XIII, and Waterside Exploration XIII have been eased.

    New items can be obtained through Quick Exploration.

    Retainers will now occasionally use the /yes emote when returning from a venture.



    The Search for Item subcommand will now display search results for NQ and HQ items separately.

    When putting items up for sale on the market, a message will be displayed when prices are adjusted to prevent exceeding the gil limit.

    When exchanging Allagan tomestones of mythology or soldiery for an item, a confirmation window will now be displayed listing the desired item and the number of tomestones to be exchanged.


    The lotting window will now indicate when an item has a lotting restriction.


    The Preview command has been added to the Gear Set window, allowing players to preview the appearance of a selected set.


    When equipping a gear set containing an item you possess two or more of, bound items will now take priority when equipping gear sets.

    The main menu has been changed as follows:

    The Mount Guide and Minion Guide categories have been added under Character.
    * In accordance with this change, the Mounts and Minions categories of the Actions & Traits interface have been removed.

    The Logs category has been adjusted.

    A green marker will now be used to indicate when new categories have been added to the main menu.



    Update notifications for new game features will now be displayed in certain locations after each patch release.

    * This notification will only appear once.

    The Character interface has been adjusted as follows:

    Hovering the cursor over Disciples of the Hand on the Classes tab will now display the desynthesis skill level of that class.
    * Clicking on a Disciple of the Hand class that has acquired the desynthesis skill will display a window listing the skill level of all available classes.

    Classes that have reached level 50 will now appear in orange on the Classes tab.




    Allied Seals will now be displayed on the Currency tab.



    The number of items displayed at once in your personal and retainer inventories has been increased (Windows®/Playstation®4).

    The option to expand your inventory display can be found under Inventory Settings on the Character tab under Control Settings in the Character Configuration interface.

    For easier distinction between personal inventory, retainer inventory, key item, and active help windows, their colors have been adjusted.


    Active Help



    The Companion interface has been changed, including the addition of the Actions, Skills, and Appearance tabs.


    Your chocobo's favorite feed will be displayed under the Actions tab.

    Your chocobo's current color will be displayed the Appearance tab.

    * The ability to alter the color of your chocobo is scheduled for patch 2.35.

    The online status New Adventurer has been added.

    Players whose total play time is less than 40 hours will be set to New Adventurer automatically. To change this status, select your character from the Party Members tab of the Social interface, then select the Edit Search Info subcommand

    The Recommendations window will now display quests in progress available in your current area.

    Gear effects will now be displayed when previewing your character.


    The options available under the PvP objective in the Recruitment Criteria interface of the Party Finder have been adjusted.

    The number of Say, Yell, Shout, or Tell messages that may be sent per second has been limited.

    Text entry in the log window will not be interrupted when a new window appears on screen.

    Enhancements from food and free company actions will no longer be displayed on the party list.

    Players can now display their target's remaining HP as a percentage on the target bar and focus target bar.

    * To view enemy HP as a percentage, select "Display target's remaining HP percentage" on the HUD tab under UI Settings in the Character Configuration interface.



    The size of graphic text has been adjusted when using an extremely large aspect ratio.

    Players can now interact with NPCs while mounted.

    * Speaking with an NPC will cause the player to dismount.

    Certain mounts can now use special actions.

    Players can confirm the actions usable by a mount from the Mount Guide window.


    After entering a boss area, the camera will no longer be obstructed by the barrier sealing the area.




    Rainy weather will now display splash effects when rain hits the ground.





    When using the /chatlog text command, the fontsize and time subcommands can now be set for individual chat tabs.

    /chatlog fontsize [tab number] [font size]
    /chatlog time [tab number] [on/offf]

    Character names can no longer be used when designating enemy targets with text commands in the Wolves' Den or Frontline.

    The "/chatlog call" text command can now be used to set notification sounds for specific chat channels.

    Example:
    /chatlog call fc 3

    The "/hud" text command can now be used to toggle on/off the display of Alliance List 1 and Alliance List 2.

    The "/waymark" text command has been changed as follows:

    /waymark(/wmark) [marker] "target"

    When a target name is specified as the target, a waymark will appear at that target's position.

    If a target name is specified, a marker name must also be specified.



    New options are available in the Character Configuration interface.

    An issue wherein HQ items and those affixed with materia could not be delivered for expert delivery missions.

    An issue wherein players equipped with Holy Shield Animus would not receive Alexandrite upon completing a FATE.
    * In the event the requirements for multiple item drops are met, the associated duty with the furthest progression will take priority.

    An issue wherein Bockman did not use auto-attack in the guildleve Under the Armor.

    An issue in the guildleve Under the Armor wherein players could move outside of the guildleve's designated area.

    An issue in the guildleve Under the Armor wherein Bockman behaved strangely.

    An issue wherein ground targeting was delayed when using actions in succession.

    An issue wherein players could not use the Dye subcommand from their inventory when placing furnishing in an estate.

    An issue wherein certain actions did not function properly when converting items into materia or repairing gear.

    An issue wherein the order of ingredients listed for heliodor ring and peridot ring was incorrect.

    An issue wherein the gate of the Wolves' Den arena did not open at the start of combat.

    An issue wherein macros set to the hotbar or cross hotbar would overwrite other macros.

    An issue wherein timestamps did not function properly when enabled. (PlayStation®3)

    An issue wherein players became stuck inside furnishings and could not move.

    An issue in the Binding Coil of Bahamut - Turn 2 wherein the barrier closing off certain bosses behaved strangely.

    An issue in the Second Coil of Bahamut - Turn 4 wherein the server would crash when engaging the boss under certain conditions.

    An issue in Brayflox's Longstop (Hard) wherein the bomb toss used by the Illuminati commander could target players locked out of the boss area.

    An issue wherein players removed from an instance while incapacitated were not revived automatically.

    An issue in the Aurum Vale wherein pets receiving damage from geysers would not regain health automatically.

    An issue during Trials wherein enemies would receive the effects of the skill Foe Requiem before starting combat.

    An issue wherein the company chest would forcibly close when multiple free company members accessed it simultaneously.

    An issue wherein the Calamity Salvager shop window would forcibly close when selecting "Yes, I am."

    An issue wherein the size of the Dark Divinity Falleth monument was reduced.

    An issue wherein objects in the levequest From Ruins to Riches were not properly placed.

    An issue wherein under certain conditions players were moved to an unintended location inside an estate.

    An issue wherein players could not progress during a cutscene in the quest Believe in Your Sylph.

    An issue wherein using an emote while bound would change the player's direction.

    An issue wherein motions would not display properly under certain conditions.

    An issue wherein macros using phrases from the auto-translation dictionary would only function properly in the language used when making the macro.

    An issue wherein the region listed for Kobold Sideman in the Twin Adder hunting log was incorrect.

    An issue wherein items listed under the Buyback tab of the Shop window did not display properly.

    An issue wherein the confirmation window for converting equipped gear into materia did not display properly.

    An issue wherein part of the Joining a Free Company active help text did not display properly.(PlayStation®3/PlayStation®4)

    An issue wherein the trading window cannot be closed under certain conditions.

    An issue wherein players could not enter Japanese with an English alphanumeric keyboard.

    An issue wherein the names and genders of certain NPCs in the FATE Watch Your Tongue were not correct.

    An issue wherein the graphic text for the 2nd ward of the Mist did not display properly.

    An issue wherein certain in-game text was incorrect.

    An issue wherein thaumaturges and black mages were able to cast multiple fire-based spells under the effect of Umbral Ice I or II.


    Other miscellaneous bugs were also addressed.

    Known Issues


    We have confirmed an issue on the PlayStation®3 wherein players cannot desynthesize items after selecting them from the Desynthesis interface.

    Until this issue has been addressed, we ask that PlayStation®3 users please select Desynthesis from the subcommand menu when desynthesizing items.
    A graphical issue wherein the entryway shown in a cutscene for the quest A Pup No Longer disappears.

    An issue wherein the active help text for Minions contains inaccurate wording.

    An issue wherein furnishings can be placed over private chamber windows in the Mist residential area.

    An issue wherein NQ items with a free company crest appear as HQ in the Buyback tab of the Shop window.

    An issue wherein players can ride a Grand Company warsteed mount regardless of their own Grand Company affiliation.

    A graphical issue wherein oval spectacles do not appear properly when dyed.

    An issue wherein an incorrect grade of glamour prism is required for item level 70 gear obtained from the Hunt.

    An issue in the PlayStation®4 wherein music does not play during certain duties.
