FFXIV Character Creation Screenshots

Released recently, Square Enix has been showing off some of the visuals in the character creation for FFXIV. Part of this will be in an upcoming beta test, so it provides a preview of what to expect as well as progress on the visuals for the characters. Most noteably, the Male Miqo'te and Female Roegadyn were presently, likely to give players a peek at their introduction in the game.

Here are the screenshots of the Male Miqo'te and Female Roegadyn. They fit well in with the rest of the races, but admittedly for anyone playing FFXI for a long time they will appear a little strange as many players are used to only seeing Female and Male versions of these races.

Additionally, earlier today a few more screenshots were released showing of the Elezen and Lalafell more with the customization. They are saying that there are 192 shades for customization, but they will not all be available for the beta test. So there should be a lot of variety possible.

There's also a female Highlander in there. I don't normally like muscular women, but she looks great.

We've been telling them we wanted both genders for all races since the beginning. It's a shame it took them so long, but it's nice they finally did it.

Yeah, I know it is something that people wanted. I sort of liked the idea of having some races that only had one available gender. It make them seem a little different. True, it doesn't provide that range of options players like, especially for MMOs, but I did not mind it much. I'll be curious to know the ratio of Male to Female for each when the game resumes.
