Arcanist and Summoner Announced for A Realm Reborn

Last week, Square Enix unveiled two new jobs for the coming A Realm Reborn update of FFXIV. The Arcanist falls under the category of Discipline of Magic. They make use of magic with a source different from the previously existing Disciplines. Their talents also allow them to summon Carbuncle to aid them making them the precursor to Summoner, it would appear.

Advancing past Arcanist, the Summoner is part of the job system, a specialized job that allows them to summon primals like Ifrit, Shiva and Titan. The Summoner is a familiar FF job from past games and well used in FFXI. So it will likely have many things in common with past iterations of the job.

Little specifics are known about the new jobs right now, but it appears there will be more unveiling in the weeks to come.
