    Music of FFX!

Hey guys! I'm new to this forum (as you can see ) and I'm a musician hoping to make it, as many others are on youtube.

That said, I've a rendition of Suteki Da Ne, the infamous (and beautiful <3) main theme of X. Let me know what you think, and don't hesitate to ask for any song you guys'd want a rendition of! Making covers of these video game songs is always a pleasure, and a really nice break from doing things with "normal" music these days.

Hmmmmm... another open question: What do you think when you hear this theme?

Suteki Da Ne - Final Fantasy X Main Theme - YouTube

    Thanks and Love
    The Optimst

    Oooooh I love it!

This is my fav. theme from any FF game..

I used to play piano when I was younger - I learned how to play by ear and took lessons for about a year, though I never got to be as good as you!

I can't even tell you where middle C is nowadays >.< ;; Although I found all of my piano lesson books recently XD

..... I can play Cosmo Canyon on the Recorder XD

Thank you! I really appreciate that ^_^

It's never too late to start! Cliche, but it's like riding a bike, you can't unlearn it

Trust me.. You'd be surprised. Like I said, I can't even remember where Middle C is.

I also played clarinet in the school band. I can't tell you where any of the notes are now or what any of the pieces are called (besides the reed & mouth piece lol)

And bass guitar. I taught myself how to read tabs. Now? Not at all.

It must really have been a while for you then. O.o

Well at least you can appreciate good music, there's a lot of people who don't play and still love it. Like I can't draw for crap, but I know a beautiful painting when I see it (or beautiful game design xD) I've known some people... there just is no soundtrack to their lives. Dunno what they really do, you know? :S

    >.<;; I took private art lessons at some point. I actually was decent ... For a lefty.

I studied video game design in Phoenix and the teacher was talking about drawing straight lines. He was like "It's easier to just -DO- it. Don't try to sketch along or whatever." I'd start to draw my line & it'd be a zigzag lol

Hahaha, Yeah... visual art... everything I can do is pretty abstract xD I guess certain people are just better at doing different things

Was it at a college that you took game design? That sounds pretty cool, what else does it involve?

    Collins College in Tempe, AZ.

Back when I enrolled, the program was all-inclusive pretty much except for maybe music. There were art classes, and programming courses, and storytelling/writing/dialogue classes and everything. Now it's gotten more concentrated. Like you can go and study programming itself or Game Art or whatever.

    EDIT:

I've been listening to all of the variations of "To Zanarkand" - Especially the Djose Highroad version (it's -so- pretty)..
lolz IDK why, but they all make me teary! I guess cuz the ending to FFX is so depressing.

Cool cool. If all goes to plan I'm off to Mcgill university for jazz Piano performance this September. Really looking forward to being in a program where I finally get to study what I want xD

Could you show me the link to the version you were listening to?

Ahhhh I love the way it starts... mysterious with the stereo drums... then it gets to the part we all know, but in different format. Besaid village too, all of them just incorporate the theme so well! It's a song I'd want to hear walking in some small village, with like the town market open xD Arghhh if only I played guitar Could you send me a link for Kilika Port, though? Haven't been able to find it on youtube.

I was scrolling down the side, came to this:

Really like it, might consider a cover, what do you think?

Oh no! I wasn't talking abotu that.. I'll look it up later. I don't feel like fighting with Youtube.

The music that's playing when you actually walk -into- Besaid Village.

I wanna learn guitar also. Use to play bass, like I said, but it's been years.

This remains as one of my favorite FF songs ever... topped only by Ayaka's "Why" (idk, I just love it). The fact that it was playing during one of the most memorable FF scenes of all time didn't hurt either. It really is no surprise that everyone that played (and liked X) holds it so dear. :')
