If I remember right, Tonberries appear more outside the omega runis, and by outside I mean the area with the multiple connected platforms that lead to omega's chamber...I think. (I might have my fiends mixed up)

I also remember finding a lot of ghosts near the entrance of CoSF, but it may have been luck. Just be patient.

I was thinking that since I'm artificially creating it, I'll create it with rocket fuel instead of blood, and thus it will be able to fly, using the dolphin's dorsal fins as wings. And from the air, it will look down upon us all and protect us against sharks, and search for bananas.

capturing a tonberry in omega ruins doesnt count for the ones in cavern of the stolen faith. I remember trying to do that because I knew that tonberrys appeared often near Omega. Your best bet is to keep going through the COtSF back and fourth. Its tedius, but just remember its not as bad as dodging 200 consecutive bolts of lightning.

I know I've linked this before, but here's a fantastic guide on the monster arena. What you want is section VIII. I'll quote the important stuff here, though.

Not nescessarily more favorable, just different. Changing party members and member positions also seems to affect encounter rates in practice, although I haven't hacked the game files, and therefore don't know why it would help in theory.
Tonberries are a bitch, but I don't think I've ever had any problems with capturing monsters in the Omega Ruins.

Tonberry does not equal Master Tonberry.
Let's go into the "archives" in "Washington D.C." and find out how people "masturbated" in the "roaring 20's."

    Re: Monster capturing

i believe different chambers within the cavern have differnt encounter rates, I remember a cavern pointin' in the eastern direction midway through the area as prime Tonberry hunting real estate. It still takes a while so grab a 'sammich and get comfy.
