Help on the dreadnought leviathan!

Is it just me or is the dreadnought leviathan harder than all the previous areas; wether it is or not I'm going to act like it is. My point is I need help, Is there some spell weapon or armor that I should be using, or a level I should be on? Also is there anything I should have done before I got on the dreadnought?

Well, without knowing what your levels actually are and exactly where you are on the Leviathan, all I can say is that the Dreadnought is a great place to gain some levels if you need them. If you bought Charge in Bhujerba it'll really help you out in this area.

Anyways, first off, the alarms when you first get on board. You can get through without triggering, but you can also seek them out on purpose. Prepare the party before you trip 'em though, you'll get a fair sized group of enemies every time. If you're really in need of levels, trip the first alarm you come across, fight that group, then run back to the crystal and save/heal. Repeat as much as you want and your levels will start flying up at a fairly good rate.

If you've already passed that part, once you break Ashe out check out the other cells to find a save point and Moogles who will sell you supplies. Now when you try to leave from there the alarm will be going off until you turn it off via security points. This is the point where I personally think is the best for leveling (since you finally have Ashe) and just start clearing out soldiers as you go.

And that's basically it...the bosses can be a bit tough on the Leviathan but the unlimited supply of Archadian troops to slaughter mitigate their powers, as you can just outlevel them heh.

If you need help with anything specific feel free to elaborate, it's been a long time since I last played so I can't say I remember everything definitively.

Anyway, for the bosses, just learn a few Quickenings on the License Board and use them. They work so effectively that the boss will have over 2/3 of his HP gone!

How do you learn quickenings?

You need to obtain 50 LP (license points) from defeating enemies. Then, go to your License Board, and look for the glowing red orbs. Put your cursor over to them, and they should say Quickening. There are a total of 18 Quickening spaces on the License Board, and each character can only learn 3. They are always the same, no matter what. When one character obtains a certain Quickening space, it gets removed from the other five members' License Board. When a character learns all three of his or her Quickenings, all of remaining spaces get removed from his or her Board.

To use them in battle, select the Mist or something option and go to Quickening. When using it, you can press buttons that use them. For example, Vaan might be assigned the [] button, Penelo might be assigned the /\ button, and Ashe might be assigned the X button. You are given a period of time to keep pressing buttons, so don't miss. You can also mix the buttons by pressing either the R1 or R2 button, I for got which.

Of course! And good job. But be wary that not everything in the game will the go down so easily to Quickenings.

You do not have to defeat the first Demon Wall. However, it certainly is possible to do so. Leveling up could work, as does getting good equipment. Just be careful that it doesn't send you away with its magic. Also, Quickenings could help out. I forgot how hard it was because I was always using the Dustia leveling technique after my first play through. So by the time I reached it, I was around level 60. But anyway, if it's giving you that hard of a time, just escape, and fight it when you have time later in the dungeon when you have better characters. The second Demon Wall is much easier, and it is necessary that you beat that one in order to proceed.

ALso.. defeating first demon waLL wiLL onLy unLock a path for u for a secret weapon.. but.. it doesn't very powerfuL.. so it's ur choice..

Yeah, I thought I would post to let everybody know I recently beat both demon walls, But tell me about this secret weapon;chances are it's better than my ancient sword. Also what is the dustia leveling technique?

you stuck on the two judges or Ghis?
heres advice for both:
judges
do as Vossler says and fight the leaders. set your gambits to target party leader, and use a potion when needed. it shouldnt be too hard, i had to help a friend do this and his party were level 8 (dont ask).
Ghis
equip your healer with the magicite. take care of the imperials first, you should have enough time to beat them before Ghis reaches you. when he reaches you just attack! leave the healer to do everything else.

i didnt have any special weapons or shields or anything. i believe Balthier had a alter, ashe had a javelin, and as did basch. hope that helps

Judge Ghis really was a pain in my ass, I defeated him only after 10-12 tries. My party were at level 9-10. That victory was a miracle, and I sweared to myself that this was the last time when I'm suffering with a boss. Now my party are on level 20-22.
And I'm still in Bhujerba.
