Other than wishful thinking, i don't think it's possible these pairings would work out. Penelo and Vaan obviously have a very deep connection that could possibly evolve into a relationship in the future.

As for Ashe, well i don't think she would remarry anytime soon. Maybe to another noble of another kingdom (such as a Rozarrian prince or something). Balthier and Fran are pretty much always together although not in a romantic sense.

So yeah. My opinion is that the proposed pairings wouldn't really work out. Sorry to rain on your parade.

Oh, well that's fair enough. I thought you were referring to who you thought would pair up after the end of XII's story. On Facebook, anything is possible

As far as the game is concerned, Vaan would never love Ashe. If I remember correctly, he doesn't even like her that much. And I just remember she shouted at him once and he wasn't happy with that.
I'd rather say that Basch and Ashe could fall in love than saying that Vaan will ever fall in love with Ashe.

As for Penelo and Balthier... that'd work, as Balthier's always charming and Penelo fell for that at least once during the game. But I think Penelo loves Vaan. Especially when you look at Revenant Wings...
