Freya was one of my favorite characters, even though technically she was one of the weaker characters, she had a good story behind it and she wished to protect her homeland which sadly was destroyed and she also lost the one she loved, plus in my opinion she has one of the greatest quotes in Final Fantasy, very sad but true

Nobody's mentioned Quina! (S)he might be a girl for al we know, and (S)he's pretty awesome ;)
But Beatrix gets my vote. She's my 2nd favourite female character in the whole series (after Celes and just above Yuffie) and she kicks ass.
So I'm guessing your favorite is garnet? haha. My favorite would be Freya, well because she's a dragoon and pretty awesome on top of that but also because of her past.Quote:

Garnet is my favorite because I am a sucker for lead heroines. If I can, I always keep the lead guy and girl in my party. That doesn't always work, but usually, these characters have the best stats anyways.
Garnet was just easier to like. While Freya is a stronger character, I do not want a giant rat in my party. And Eiko was different... but not bad. I just preferred using Garnet.

...Just kidding. Seriously I would go with Freya. Few characters suffered through more in a short amount of time, or handled it as well as she did. Her home's destroyed, her true love doesn't remember her, but she never gives up. It was inspiring. And I loved her design.
But I liked all the female characters, even Quina (whom I believe to be a girl).
Garnet is far and away my undisputed favourite character in the whole of the Final Fantasy Series. First of all because she is so unbelievably beautiful, I know a lot of people prefer Yuna, Rinoa or Tifa, but for me Garnet is a cut above the rest, both in her soothingly gentle face and also how her costume excentuates her beautiful body. This, in tandem with her delicate personality, the gentleness of her speech, her kindness, her ability to forgive, this all inspires and brings out emotion in me in a way that no other final fantasy character does. The epitomy of how I feel this way is in how she sings the 'Song of memories'. This song is the song of childhood and indeed of my entire life, what i'm about to say will sound very cliche and fake but I assure you it is not. This song had an unbelievable effect on me in my teenage years when i suffered from servere depression following my parents divorce, this was during a time when I had seriously considered suicide In my times of need I would put this song on my stereo, curl up in a ball, listen to it and cry my problems away, even today, years later, I still do this sometimes, and for this reason, Garnet is my favourite character, for saving me.
