I'm not really a fan of Squall to begin with, so I don't really have too strong of an opinion about it. I think that they carried too much of the "lone-wolf" part of his character over into Dissidia, and that's what is affecting the delivery of his lines for me. The lines that he speaks sound too nonchalant, imo, but that's just part of his character.
I get what you're saying about his voice being too low though. He's still a young guy. Around 17 years old, right? It does sound a bit strange to me as well that it would be on the low side like it is.
