What I really mean is... in Final Fantasy VIII, whoever is in your team follows you about where you run.
I always find it so amusing... having two others take the same path you do behind in perfect order haha.
What did you think about the following thing?
Personally I loved it xD. It's just so fun to watch! Countless times I mess around with joystick to watch them run about. I particularly love in Squalls dorm... If you jiggle the controls a bit you can make them look like a three person mutant. Give it a go.

It was fun. A bit tedious at times, but fun to mess around with. It was better than FF7 at least, where you seemed to ABSORB/EAT your own characters.
I like to have two girls with Squall in the party with Squall (usually Quistis and Selphie), and then have them run around in a circle so it looks like Squall is being chased by them. Whilst doing that I hum the funny music from Benny Hill.

Funny...? Ah well, I found it rather annoying. I liked the other FFs more, in which you just had one person who walked around. It was nice to see who was in your party, but that's all.
Somehow, it's something that makes FFVIII unique, but I didn't find it funny or even liked it. To me, it looked a bit stupid, especially when I ran in circles. It really looked as if everyone chased after Squall. O_o" Weird...

I thought the following aspects made FFVIII(and IX) unique and it worked out better than waiting for cutscenes to load or bad graphics eating other bad graphics. It was a better conversion; I mean, you wouldn't normally have people walking into you after talking, you just move on. Not to mention, alot of time, you only had three people with you in missions and stuff, so it fit.
I liked FFX's cutscene approach... when you adventured, it felt like the characters were sort of following you off-screen, so it didn't matter. Basically, when it comes to this stuff, each game to its own...

It wasn't a bad idea really, following rather than "eating." The only reason it was flawed was because of the ps1's limitations, and it had no limit breaks.

I really couldn't care either way to me. I just wanted to play the games whether you ate the characters or they followed you. Just my opinion.
It was funny sometimes,and other times it was completely annoying and unwanted.Yea,I liked to make them do stupid things,but sometimes I'd rather have Squall or one party member.

I like the following better than the "eating," as others have pointed out. Makes me feel like I actually have a party instead of one forced character the whole way through.
I like the "copy your exact movement" better than follow your general position, as in FFXII. Its fun to watch, and I never really have any problems with it.

Ahhh yes, I remember mucking around with that too. I enjoyed making them run in a tiny circle constantly so it looked like they were all one person and also trying to run away from the other characters.. not possible though!
I liked how the characters could follow you around, it looked more than real than the characters jumping into your body or whatever and hiding lol. Although it looked a bit strange when the two characters following would do the exact same thing as Squall.
I think the intention of this was too make it seem more realistic than FF7 but it is funny how they follow Squall's exact moves wghen he walks. But in effect I do not mind whether characters are ther to follow you are not cuz the games are still cool.
