I started a new game of FFIX the other night, and I wondered. What would Vivi (and I suppose any of the Black Mages) look like if you took of his hat?
I had always thought that a Black Mage's head was similiar to a Bowling Ball. Completely round, jet black in color, and the finger holes match the place his eyes are. I fear that I may be wrong, though. I am afraid that if someone were to take off the hat, you would see the vilest, most evil things, that people only see in their nightmares.

I also like Rameses' idea of being made up magical void...stuff. They are made from mist, so that could be what holds them together.

, I'd imagine him to look like that, but probably younger. Though weren't they like similar to robots in FFIX? I don't really remember.
Gotta admit though, the black wizard mohawk is badass.

Simple... he's a black (mage) supremacist. They're all just as stupid and cone-headed as each other anyway.
I think the bowling ball theory gets it right on the mark. Although, the cone head idea does explain why they have their pointy hats.

I think someone mentioned it before but I feel it has to do with the way he was born...even though he may be human, in order to master the black arts he may have magically altered his being or something. Once again it's some crazy theory, but the fact that his uncle is similar to Quina's species, and he has the cool eyes, I'd say it's some magic effect
