I'm just wonering about other people's opinoins on the storyline of Final Fantasy VII for PS1. Personally I thought I was great. My favorite part was when you got the bugy. You could actually explore the world instead of being blocked by rivers. I don't know if it's just me but does anyone know why Cloud thought that Sephiroth burned down Nibelheim? Maybe I missed it or just forgot.

Those are not the original Nibelheim townsfolk, they're just Shinra's so called "actors" to cover the incident that happened in Nibelheim, Shinra even rebuild the town from ashes.
As for the story, some part's could have been done little better but it's interesting never the less.

I do reaLLy Like the storyLine of FFVII! It's one of the best.. of aLL FF, I must say.. I do have many different favourite scenes.. aLso.. It takes, I think twice or more of pLaying to understand the game compLeteLy because it got so many twisting and some covered characters Life history, just Like Vincent.. etc. :-) and the ending is good! Over-aLL, I Love the whoLe of it!

The story line of VII is the best of the FF series and the best part is the final battle with Sephiroth and the final cut scene

I really really reallllly think they need to make final fantasy 7 into a cgi movie. it would be so epic.
The story was fairly good. But seriously? I think FF 2,4,5,6,8,9 and 12 beats this one's

I total agree being a FFIX fan, I just hate the critique this game gets... It's TOO overrated, and I feel sorry for people who's first game was FF7, because they disregard all the other Final Fantasy's. ( Actually I'm NOT saying EVERYONE but many people do.)
I don't mind fans of Final Fantasy 7 at all (Except the in your face ones) and I enjoyed the game but why does this game get a CGI movie, and a first in the PSN shop, there's even talk of a remake but they are rumours...
But to answer the question of the thread, I thought the story was great, a lot of action, drama and thrills, even mystery. I loved it!

I apoligize Vivi because I am a in your face FF VII fan I can't help I love and i don't no what it is that I love about it
A big part of the appeal that I see is the aesthetic look of the whole game. The characters are clad in darker colored clothes, they're surrounded by non-traditional fantasy elements like newer technology, and the game originally had some nice graphics for its time in 1997. I really think that the way it looks has fueled the initial interests of many people and has given them further reason to look deeper into the game and eventually play it.
There's no denying that Sephiroth looks sweet. I remember seeing his picture without playing the game and thinking, "Woah, that guy looks pretty awesome. I should look into that game."
Good but confusing story. I have played the game many times have watched my missus play it many times and I still don't fully understand the story!!! But hey the game is great anyway so I don't really mind!!!
