News Post Final Fantasy VII Combat is not Fully Action Based says Producer

While at the Playstation Experience event, Square Enix had a video interview that showed with Produce Kitase talking about the new Final Fantasy VII remake. While he spoke about where they had come from since making FFVII and what they are able to do now with the technology, he also spoke about the combat system. He acknowledged that the current direction of games is more action oriented and FFVII will be more action based. But he promises that it will still have the strategic elements that we core to the game as well. It is not full clarity on the new combat system, but does promise a hybrid of the old and new.
