Crisis Core- Final Fantasy VII(PSP) (possible spoilers)

I wanted to start a general discussion about this yet another off shoot of the famous FF7, after getting coffee and realizing I was first in the wrong forum.

What is everyone's response?! Here I'd like to discuss different takes on story line, but also materia combos you guys have tried in order to make Zack badder than Sephiroth before we all know what happens.

So first Q....ooohhhh spooky....ok, Aerith or Cissnei?

Personally I went with Aerith for Zack. Cloud and Tifa made a lot of since for me and frankly, Zack and Aerith end up in the same place, though game makers ended up placing interesting graphics and dialogue for Cissnei, the Turk.

Also, did anyone figure the tasks at hand to build handcarts? The first two are pretty easy, but the third cart takes even more parts that may be hard to find. Getting these along with most items takes running through the game doing crazy fusion ideas while answering another Q: Are you Physical, Magic, or Hybrid.

It took me a little while, but came up with an interesting combo for Hybrid. Oh then there I finally got to Minerva and had to relook materia boosts.
    OOps.

Re: Crisis Core- Final Fantasy VII(PSP) (possible spoilers)

Oh, Crisis Core... This game was the reason that I shelled out the cash to finally buy a PSP.

I got it when it was first released, and played through it 2 and a half times. The first two times were just on normal, while my half game was on the hard difficulty. Actually, I got really far on my "half game". I got to the final fight with Genesis, but he was waaay too hard for me to defeat, so I pretty much gave up on beating the game a 3rd time.

I don't remember too much of my materia set ups, but I'm pretty sure I had some HP and power boosting ones there. When I get another game going (might be a while before I get around to it), I'll talk about that more in-depth.

As for Aerith or Cissnei, I like Aerith for Zack. No real reason other than Cissnei was a bit too secretive, but considering her line of work, I suppose it's understandable. Aerith and Zack had a better chemistry though.

Speaking of Aerith: I honestly can't believe that the developers made her afraid of the sky... I was like "Wat... " when I heard her say that.

The handcarts sidequest got fully completed in my second run of the game. Heh, I really enjoyed when the final handcart was built, and then a bunch of ShinRa troops came along and destroyed it because they thought it was some kind of weapon. xDDD

I made my Zack pretty much a physical fighter, especially in my first playthrough. In my second and third, I incorporated more magic to his arsenal, but physical prowess was still most important. That's pretty much how I play any game though. ^^

I have yet to take on Minerva, but I hear that she's quite difficult.

For the final (third) cart, I got three of the final pieces, but do you remember where you get all pieces?

I'm on my second play through because I wanted to try different materia combos without hurting myself in the long run.

On your last note, if anyone has fought Minerva, The Reigning Deity, how'd you do it and did you steal from her?

There are also Genji equipment throughout this game as there are in many FF game series. I've only found two, the gloves and the helmet.

I would say Aeris (y u no call her Aeris you sillies? ) would be the appropriate choice for Zack.

I don't think i've ever done the handicart thing. I kind of regret playing CC, several years ago i remember watching videos of this game which looked good, but really, it wasn't all it was made up to be. Not making that mistake again haha. It was fun to play when i had it, only for a 1 time playthrough though.

Re: Crisis Core- Final Fantasy VII(PSP) (possible spoilers)

I loved Crisis Core. I've played it over so many times, after beating it. My first playthrough was the most memorable(then again, why wouldn't it be? xD).

I found it to be a somewhat difficult game as I played through it, and I still remember the first time I fought Sephiroth in it. xD I remember saying something along the lines: Since when can Sephiroth teleport? O.o Yeah, that surprised me... xD It took me forever to beat him. Because I either lost on the first round, or second round against him. I nearly died when I finally beat him. xP

And that's the same with Genesis too... I nearly gave up on the game when I couldn't beat him. :\ I was so happy when I won against him, after trying a million times. xD I must've been around lvl 26, or something when I fought against him.

Also... Cissnei or Aeris(I personally hate how they changed her name to Aerith. D: )... I'd say that Aeris and Zack were good together. I mean... I have to say Zack really loved her, and vise versa. I mean... Zack put together a flower wagon just for her(Oh, and I have made all 3 of them. Can't remember how I did it though. xD), and Aeris was there for him, when he was crying over the loss of Angeal.

And oooh... You can fight Minerva in it?? I totally didn't know that. Well, I might've, but anyway... How can you fight against her??

    Spoiler:
I didn't know about fighting Minerva until it popped up in the area you find her. It's in the Great Cavern of Wonders missions. After you beat all of the missions, the last area that comes up is called The Reigning Deity. There's a short cutscene; then it's one on one. Don't bother using the Dualcast with Graviga trick; you'll waste your time. Hope that helps. I don't know if there's others like her yet.

The first two series, for those of you who don't read or know, were 7 volumes total and all for PS2. There was also an 8th; it was called .hack//Fragment Offline. A lot of people didn't know that I bet. Has anyone read any .hack manga? If you don't plan on getting Link and instead prefer to read, I recommend at least trying out .hack//Link Manga- Read .hack//Link Manga Online for Free at Manga Fox. Let me know what you think.

for the final cart you need to best your score 4 times in the squat mini-game in the lab on the soldier floor of headquarters. If you have done really well the first 3 times getting the fourth can be pretty tough and trying on your next playthrough might be the best idea. As long as you hold yourself back a little when you try again it should't be to tough to beat it all four rounds and collect your prize

I have taken a break from my PSP for a while, but thank you for providing the answer for them. I also want to thank you kindly for Necroposting here, yet I still believe the rule should be 3 months and not a 2 month period. It matters not. I guess the Mod here isn't doing their job, but then again, maybe I am just a scary guy. Hehehe.

Personally, I would love to see Before Crisis come to the PSP. Why is it everytime I come up with a good idea for the PSP market they never do it and miss out on the Monopoly? On the Genji equipment I mentioned, I'm starting to think that
    Spoiler:
there are only two, and only two there ever will be.

Here's another Pop Quiz for all the PSPers who think they got it made. When it comes to the Gil Toss materia, what stat if any raises your damage? Also, which Punch materia is the coolest? This might be a matter of opinion, but it's fairly obvious.

Sorry if I messed up, it's just if someone was still having a problem with any part of this game I wanted to help. it may not be an important scene that you unlock w/ the third cart, but I still wouldn't have wanted to miss it. I apologize again if I broke any rules and promise to pay closer att. to dates in the future.

Oh. No one is going to hit you for it. Don't worry about it. What you did was perfectly fine. I just wanted to give a friendly heads up. We need more people with the willingness to help anyway.

Ok. I'll go ahead and answer one of the previous questions. I thought the Costly Punch was the coolest. It costs nothing except a little HP to use. The bad side is that it sometimes will not work and you have to change materia slot choices and switch back to work it. This makes it interesting and fun to use because it's kind of like gambling with time. While using the Adaman Bangle or Genji Glove, your maximum damage limit goes to 99,999 turning your punch ability into The Final Fantasy.

(I didn't know what else to type in.)

since we're all talking about FF7CC, i have to admit this game made me cry so much that i was crying when the title screne came back on. i've played the game about three times since i had gotten it and the last time i found it i found the coffin the Vincent Valentine was sleeping in under the shinra manor. i was so shocked and excited that i took a picture on what room he was in and then what coffin he was in. I don't own the original seven so to find out where Vincent Valentine was...was a discovery of pure luck.

Anyways, back to what is being said. I'm not a geniusly skilled rpg player, so whenever I go up against Sephiroth and beat him, it is mainly out of strategy and luck. i had your basic matira like curaga, fira, thunder. I had stocked my items up high though so that's what mainly helped me get through Sephiroth.I also had some other matria, but i forgot what they were...sorry it's been a while since i played it.
"All I did was watch, I didn't even try to stop her...that was my sin and this...this is my punishment." -Vincent Valentine, FF7: Dirge of Cerberus-

Thanks for the heads up, I haven't been online for long and am still messing up here and there, and unfortunatly haven't been able to play as many FF's as I've wanted to either, but I loved this one so much that I just had to talk about it w/someone, anyone!!!! Thanx again for the help and if you ever dust off your psp again good luck w/getting your final cart!!!

Costly punch is most definitly my fave, I ground minerva to dust thanxs solely to this attack, as well as many, many, many other baddies
