Since it's been awhile, I'm going to go out on a limb here and say there is no origin for the names of the Magus Sisters, since I've never been able to find any special meaning to their names, and I make it my business to know name origins. Their Japanese names were Dog, Mag and Rag, which are equally meaningless names. If you have an idea where they came from, though, please tell me since Im curious what you think they mean.

Remember Rydia's companion Whyt? They take on that form before they actually mature into an Eidolon. In which takes them hundreds of years to do so. You can find this info in the Feymarch where Leviathan & Asura are at. Read the books in the shelves their in & they'll tell you about each Eidolon. When you first reach the Feymarch, Rydia explains how Eidolons actually come to be.
