FFVI HELPLINE (possible spoilers inside)

The 'L' button on my DS and SP are a little messed up, so I sometimes have trouble entering certain Blitz moves too, but yeah, the Down, Down, Left thing works just fine. Whenever the game says you need to input something like DOWN-LEFT, you really only need to push DOWN or LEFT.

Anyway, for my next question: I just got past Phantom Train recently, and I was wondering if there's a way to get the ghost to join your ranks permanently too. It's not really that useful, but I just want a full cast :D.

Unless they made a cheat or glitch for the game the Ghost cannot join the party permently :( I wonder what impact he would have if he did join the party :huh?:

Is there way to rearrange your party outside battles (i.e. change order, change rows etc)

What is the best place to level up your characters?

@ Dr. Glenn: Yes you can rearrange your party, you can do it in the main menu that views your whole party's stats.

@ Bekki: A good place I leveled up my characters was the forest around the eastern part of the world map where you can fight Tyranosaurs and Brachiosaurs. Be careful of the Brachiosaurs because they can cast Ultima and wipe out your whole party, they can also drop Celestraids/Economizers too. Both of them give you good exp.

Another good place to level up is Mt. Zozo on the WOR. The 6 row of slug type monsters and the Gold Bears and well as those Sickle type monsters give a decent amount of exp.

Note: Watch the Bear monsters as they are fast and can steal your gil:)

Thank you for that but now to refresh my question: What is the best place to level up on the Southern Continent when your airship is grounded to a halt and you cant get off the island?

Yes I have been through the Cave to the Espers.

The desert to the the far west would be the best place, they offer a moderate amount of exp, the Cave of the Espers is a good place to level up as well, I usually have mog in my party around that time and his dances are good there unless he trips :lol: And the field of grass alittle bit below Vector has the bird and wyvern type monsters they give a decent amount of exp to.


EDIT: I forget that the desert might be in the eastern half of the continent, if not the western side.

EDIT: Right now the world has changed (one year on) and Celese (I think) has no Runic. How do I get it again and I am near the next boss fight in the game.

you have to equip a sword for that to work(NOT ultima weapon)

bekki as Brachioraidos said only a sword gives celes the ability runic unarmed or a mace/flail wont let her use runic

Right thanks for that anyway. I am at a castle (not Edgars one and I have forgotten the one because I haven't played it in a while) and the walkthrough that I have said go in to a room and heal your characters (if you want) and they should be a cut scene. Well I have been in that room god knows every time and there is no cut scene and I am wanting to move on. Any help would be greatfully recived and I have almost given up on the game.

Have you got Cyan in your party?

Yes I do and then what? I do want to get further before I put the game in the bin.

Are you talking about Doma Castle in the world of Balance or Ruin? If you mean Doma then go to the room and select the option to rest and you'll get a cutscene if Cyan is in your party. This is a optional quest, if this is what your talking about, so you don't have to do it if you don't want to.

It is int he land of Ruin now that I remember and I do have Cyan in my team. If it is a sidequest then how do I go about doing it and if I decide to skip it then what am I suppose to do next? Because without me doing the Doma Castle bit of the game I cannot go any further apart from leveling up characters and even then that is a bit boring.

In WoR, Doma Castle is completely optional. There's a big side quest there though (and it's a tad easier if you have Terra and X-Zone), which you can get to by resting there with Cyan and 3 other characters.

In actuality, most of the WoR is a side quest since you can get into Kefka's Tower anytime after you get the airship. What you should do next is find the rest of the characters you have not yet recovered (not sure who you have or don't have, so I don't know which way to direct you).

The Doma Castle sidequest is worth doing to Bekki. It enables you get the Alexander summon, as well as the I think it was either Marasame or Masamune for Cyan. There is another castle quest that requires Terra in WoR. You can get access to some awesome items and some awesome magicite.


One item of interest is a relic I forgot the name that gives you X-Attack ( it lets you attack up to 8 times ) which is probarly sweet for Sabin or Cyan. You get access to the Odin summon and you can even change Odin to the Raiden summon if you don't want Odin. Like Elf said its completely optional but it will help you out alot for the final dungeon.:)

Right that is what I am doing now and you must be getting sick of me (hehe). I am in the third car and there is six boses at the end of the train car. In what order does you you have to open and close the chests.

You have to close the bottom left chest, the middle chest, and the top right chest then flick the switch. :)

To find the Cactuar esper, you need to go the desert in near Miranda in the world of Ruin.

EDIT: I checked out Gamefaqs for a more precise location and here's a bit more...

And for Gilgamesh, you go to the auction in Jidoor and bid on the Excalipoor. You need at least 500,000 Gil with you. If you win, you'll fight him and need to defeat him in order to obtain him as an esper. Hope this helps. :)

The monster that gives you Flare Star is called "Io", its number 255 on the bestiary, just so ya know.

what are the locations for the eight legendary dragons?!?!!? i found these:
fire
ice
storm
earth
the two in kefka's tower(i cant remember they're names)

and what is the recomended level and team line up for beating the Gigantaur? I need the esper locations too. mainly the bottom half of the list except for gilgamesh and what ever you get from leviathan.

I have the advanced version and i can't get past the the scene where u must use Blitz tech. its when you first have to use it and it tells you what to press.For some reason it wont work..I bought it used so is it possible its the game or am i doing something wrong??

Probably you aren't pressing the button after executing the command. To use the Blitz moves, you need to select the Blitz command, execute the move, then press the button again to accept. If you did it correctly, then the Blitz move will be executed almost immediately; else, it will say "Incorrect button input".

yeah, once you get the excalipoor, take it to the arena and wager it with a strong character. you fight some impish thing and get the merit award. Gilgamesh appears and says he will take the sword from you. Having ultima and a celetriad helps...a lot.
and just to reiterate--
WHERE IS THAT LAST FREAKIN DRAGON AT?!?!!? SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME BEFORE I GOT UTTERLY MADDER THAN I ALREADY AM!!!(which is near impossible)
