FFI Party Configuration Problems

I recently got FF I for the PSP and I have my party members set up... but I remember hearing that enemies mainly target the characters in the front... is this true?... Anyway I was wondering who would be safer my WhiteMage with higher Stamina (stat) or my Thief with a higher defence (equipment)??

I'm pretty sure that thieves will take less damage. Also thieves will evade more attacks. I think that white mages are much more useful than thieves, so you should put your thief in the front row and your white mage in the back row

its true that the attack chance is higher for the units in the front and your thief is a melee unit so it should be in front

The Thief is probably more suited to the front as opposed to the White Mage, namely because they have better defense and also lowers your chances of the White Mage getting hit and killed. We all know that terrible feeling in the pit of our stomachs when our healer dies
