Is FFI also available on the EU market? In case there's a difference.
News---
Those of you that want to relive the original 8-bit Final Fantasy game, can now do so on Wii Virtual Console. The game is available for purchase for 500 Wii Points ($5). Square Enix has already released Final Fantasy I in a few compilations and portable titles, so hopefully we can begin to watch more classic FF titles continue to appear.

I hope this will mean we'll get imported japanese versions of the game like FFIIj, FFIIIj, and FFV for that matter.

That just sounds delicious... I'm pretty sure I have 500 points still... was saving up for IV years after but I don't have a credit card and are already in deb with my parents... I've always wanted to play it... GO 8-BIT GRAPHICS!!!
I've been waiting a very long time for this game to come out on Virtual Console and I was very excited to see it on there on Friday after school. I downloaded it immediately and right now, I've defeated the pirates at the second town, and I'm wandering around the overworld.
Just a question for anyone who did download it: Did they leave in all the broken stuff, such as the spells or items that don't work properly? I'm going to assume it's just a direct port of the NES original, but I'd be absolutly overjoyed if they fixed it up before launching it.
i do not have a wii.
guess thats why they created emulators

Damn it sucks I don't have a wii, and I probably will never be able to =/
My only chance of ever playing this game would be through the 20th anniversary edition for the PSP
Final Fantasy and Samurai Champloo FTW!!
is there much difference between the PSP version and the Wii version?
and how you play it on wii???
Pretty big difference. The Wii "version" is actually just the original NES version emulated. The PSP version is a full fledged remake.
i never played or have never seen the original NES version, can you give me some examples of the differences?
I know that there will be a huge difference in graphics, but is there any difference in gameplay/story/equipment/... ?
I'm finally getting a Wii today (taking my Dad's because he never plays it). First order of business is to download this and FF2. Can't wait to get the console home!
