1 Grand Master is all you need, put haste on him and it's game over for whatever random battle or boss fight you get. 2 GM is just to ez.
Grand master/ Grand master / Thief / Red wizard or White wizard?
It seem pretty good to me but I'd like to hear from someone who tryed it ?
2x GM mean insane physical damage while not so bad defence and the Ninja is mostly used for "hast" on boss fight.

Any of you guys beat FF1 with just white mages? lol
I did it a couple times, it was fun.
Sig and ave made by Violet, thanks again Violet!
I am currently doing 4 thieves. Haven't played it in a few days though, but I plan on loading it up again soon. Plus I promised Rocky commentary on it.
4 thieves has been done on the nes version and some no life geek had it done with 1 single white mage (the 3 other char where thief lvl 1 with zero EXP). It was on the Nes version too.
Just search for it on youtube.
Curently I am trying it with 4 BB but having no WM and BM at low lvl hurts. By lvl 6 I can't go kill the Zombulls for insane EXP and gold like the old Fighter, Thief, WM, BM can do.
I'll probably try 3 BB + 1 BM on my next attent.
yeah i tried it and lost really quickly x.x
4 white mages was awesome and a little difficult....but i guess that is the point
Honestly, i'm nervous enough using one Black Belt/Master - two would be overkill. I'm more of an all-round person, using magic and physical attacks (preferably choosing the Thief's access to magic over the Black Belts' potential physical ownage)

I've only beaten the game a few times but the class combo's i used were kinda dumb now that i think about it. first time thrue i used, a Fighter, a RM(caz there just B.A)a Monk, and a thief, second time i played thrue i used all thiefs. it was kinda boring that way -_-. but never 4 white mages. i hate using them i'm all about DPS baby wooooooooooohh!!!

I've never done that exact combination, mainly due to my dislike of the Thief. I find it is the most worthless use of a slot in the party. I've done 2 Black Belts, Red Mage, White Mage and had success. I've done 3 Black Belts with a Red Mage and had a lot of success. I've done 4 Black Belts and completely raped the game after hitting level 10 or so. It was almost as unfair as 4 Fighters, but a LOT cheaper.
OLD SKOOL - A positive appellation referring to when things weren't flashy but empty of substance, were done by hard work, didn't pander to the lowest common denominator, and required real skill. Labour-saving devices, shortcuts that reduce quality and quitting before the task is done are not characteristics of "old skool."
In reference to computer games, refers to a game that had substantial playability without flashy graphics or eye candy. Old skool gamers appreciate difficult maneuvers, careful planning, and scorched earth policies.
In reference to role-playing games, old skool refers to games that tested players' wits, could kill off careless characters, and required dedication and inner strength to play. Old skool games didn't pander to the ideas that everyone is created equal, that all options are open to all races, that the markets were somehow free, and that a quasi-medieval society could have near 100% literacy.
