I'd choose either or. Depends upon how awesome the old game is. If it's worth paying full price for a new game, then I'd get it on the 3DS (if I ever decide that I have enough money to buy one...) and if it's just some old game I want to play again, I'd get it on the VC. Although I haven't used the VC in over a year... Haven't played my Wii since like December or January, for that matter. Anyhoo...
