Re: Wii U
It is pretty funny that the Wii U looks like a Wii that's been sanded around the corners. But I'm going to have trouble actually wanting to be holding to something that big for hours while I play a game. I don't know how heavy it is, but it is not like it is a handheld. It does not even look like it is very comfortable as a controller.
Plus, I think they are going to be facing the problem of what they are showing off and the appearance of it. People will think it is a tablet, which it is not. It is a controller with a display screen that is receiving a wireless signal from the console. It doesn't do anything without the console being on. And it is only single touch, not multi-touch. So I think the average person that bought the Wii and goes in for the Wii U thinking it is a tablet or iPad will end up a little upset.
But I don't think the success of the Wii financial means success for the Wii U. The 3DS isn't doing so good right now, in part for the lack of games. And that is riding off of the coat tails of the DS. So I think the success of the Wii U is still a question mark. Especially if the casual person, which the Wii targeted, gets turned off from misunderstandings.
There is also going to be the fear that it will just be getting ports of games that have since been released. So they'll be playing catch up.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.
