    Video Game Wedding?

Hey guys I haven't been around in a while but I saw this article and it made me think of this place.

Would you have your wedding have video game themes?

    Re: Video Game Wedding?

I did jokingly suggest this to my boyfriend when we went to the geekiest themed bar in town about a month ago, it had a TARDIS in it, and other such cool things, of course, I was only joking, but if we did actually decide to get married, I think It'd be pretty funny to do summat like that. I dont think I take myself seriously enough to have a regular wedding.

    Re: Video Game Wedding?

I think the ceremony should be normal, that way anything that happens afterwads can be way over the top and considerable since the most important part is taken care of in the most respectable way.

say the after part would be the reception yeah? (im not sure how weddings work) well at the reception you could have consoles and tv's setup so everyone can enjoy the multiplayer of racing games or CoD, maybe a small tekken tournement. Why should one always have to stick with the traditional bands playing corny music etc (not sure if my view on weddings has been scewed by absolutey every single wedding ive seen in movies) but to me, theres nothing special about following desired routine. Of course though, there would be limitations to how far I would go in making a wedding different from the norm. Having golem present a ring for example.

    no, really.

    Re: Video Game Wedding?

Personally, I wouldn't, as most of my friends are not gamers, and I think they would be bewildered by the whole thing. :/ The closest thing I'd do is have Yuna's wedding dress from Final Fantasy X, but there's a risk of looking more like a cosplayer than a bride...

I do however like the idea of having video games at the reception. Also, the Big Daddy cake topper is kick-ass!

I think i'd enjoy it for a while then get pissed when, inevitably, wasted Zeldas and such are walking round stealing the limelight. The consoles would be amazing though. I'd have to have a smash brow tournament. A master chief that can't hold his ale may ruin the ambiance.

Like some other people have said I'd happily have cakes and decor in gaming themes. Anything else may ruin the 'reality' and 'magic' of the day. I'm not a believer in tradition, mind. A nice castle a slight Zelda theme (triforce flags and Hyrules insignia) would do.

I always thought it would be funny to have Vader walk down the isle to his theme music.

I saw these gaming soaps once and I think they would be fun to have as part of giftbaskets for the people in the wedding.

I think I'd also want to have an xbox set up so people who don't want to dance can still have fun.

I'd do the video game cocktails at my wedding. The non-gamers wouldn't really think too much on why the shots are called 'phoenix downs', but the gamers would get a kick out of it.

Not exactly a wedding. But awhile ago someone had the glados voice and a level designer make a specific level with voices to ask his wife to marry him. Ill link it later as I'm on my phone.

Having someone play Golem at any wedding is not a good idea, especially if everyone knows about it. I think if I got married I would see if my wife to be would be interested in a video game themed wedding. I would not want to ruin her day.

    Re: Video Game Wedding?

I would love to have a video games wedding! However, I have never thought of myself as one of those materialistic people, and I wouldn't want to spend a sh*t ton of money on a ceremony that's only gonna last a couple hours. I'm completely fine with a $30 wedding at a court house. My boyfriend and I have discussed marriage, and he wants to wait because of money. I'm like, "Well if you want to wait for whatever reason, that's fine. But why money? I don't need like a $6,000 ring or anything. It's simply not important to me." I know he just wants the best for me, but I think spending too much money on anything unless it's education, etc. is ridiculous.

ROWAN---- That video is ridiculous 0.0 OMG! I love LOTR but that is wayyyy over the top. And he didn't tell her he was gonna do that? Ohhh man, I bet he didn't get any cookie that night.

HAHAHA my father would KILL me on my own wedding if I did that! XD
He thinks I'm way too old to play video games anymore, so if I marry in a few years time and they play video game music... I think he'd leave instantly. XD

Okay, but seriously. I don't think I want that much of a wedding anyways. No big party or such things - just sitting there with the family. So I wouldn't like that much music anyways.
And, don't get me wrong, but I don't know any song which could be played at a wedding. Oo Although, probably, the aria of FFVI would be a nice song. <3 But at my wedding? Nah .-. No. Thank you.

Me and my missus love the FF games however our wedding won't have FF theme, but my missus loves Yuna's wedding dress and wants to get married in that and that is a possibility.
