Touhou Bullet Hell Games

Anyone play curtain shooters/Danmaku, bullet hell games? Specifically the Touhou games? Anyone any good at them? For those who have no idea what I'm talking about and want to find out...go here:





I have 1-13, but I only really play 6 and up. I've been thinking of recording an LP to go on here and probably will when I get the time.

Subterranean Animism, Ten Desires and Imperishable Night are my three favorites. I've completely beaten all three of them. I'm probably the worst at The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil...I cannot beat the second stage boss without at least being killed once.

Anyway... List your favorites, talk about the series or post your LPs here. *shrugs*

Let's hear it for Phantasmagoria of Flower View! That along with 6 were my favorites. Not to mention I thoroughly Immaterial and Missing Power, but that one is a fighter and not a bullet hell. As you and I have discussed before, I used to be pretty good at bullet hell (Cleared Yamaxanadu on Lunatic Mode in PoFV) but I think my skill might have waned as I haven't played in quite awhile.

Also, Embodiment of Scarlet Devil is balls to the walls difficult, but remember that shift key, yo.

I think you and I may be the only bullet hell gamers at TFF... I didn't really care for Phantasm of Flower View that much at first... It was out of my comfort zone and it took me a while to really figure out what the hell I was doing. Doesn't matter ANY Touhou game is better than Mountain of Faith... I HATE that one. It's not really that I'm just not good at it, I just didn't think it was good compared to others.

And you're right. Touhou is one of those games where if you go a while without playing them...you get soft. I had to retrain at Easy(yes, easy) because I went so long without playing them(that said, easy seems harder than Lunatic on some games) And NONE of them would be playable without the almighty shift key.


BTW, not sure if you're aware but there is a hybrid megaman/Touhou game called Megamari. Check it out.
