What are your top ten scariest games if you have played that many?
And what is your scariest moment in a game ever?
10: Resident Evil 4- Not that scary but, gives you a sense of panic, and Del Lago gave me my second biggest scare ever when i shot the lake.
9: Dead Space- I like the atmosphere, but the enemies failed eventually.
8: Silent Hill 2- It was alright, but wasn't scary for me, though Pyramid made me scream on the hospital...>.>
7: Resident Evil 0- Friggin leech man, only reason.
6: Resident Evil 2- Friggin MrX and Zombie hands... And stupid Crows randomly...
5: Silent Hill 1- I mean, I screamed during the opening event... Hell man...>.>
4: Silent Hill 3- Wow was this game scary... I can't even explain it... Smdh

1: Resident Evil Remake- Wow, holy hell, all because of the crimson heads... Tsk Tsk Tsk. Great one Capcom, make the zombies come back to life and don't give me enough lighter fluid, and make me hate going in the mirror room...

Spoiler: In Silent Hill 4, in a certain spot, you are in a water prison. An enemy called the twin head or whatever appears. I said, "Ohh new enemy to kill", When I walked to it, it ran at me and I screamed and ran into a rome, with a hole. I jumped down 3 holes. It was all black... Another twin head ran past me randomly and I swear I have never been that scared in my life. I said, "OH **** CHRIST BITCH!!" Sorry for language.

Oh you have to put Doom 3 in there.
The 3rd one? That was a bloody nightmare waiting to happen. I couldn't play it for more than 5 or ten minutes at a time. Absolutely terrifying. Try it when you're alone in the middle of the night and have a few drinks first. OUCH! ;-)
To add more diversity to my list I'll restrain myself from using several games from same franchise, though the same may prevent me from making a top ten list due to my lack of experience with sufficient number of survival horror, horror in general, games.

Describing every game separately would certainly be nice, I don't see need for it though since what I have to say goes for almost every game on this list. Dracula: The Resurrection would be the only game that relies solely on intense music, which is understandable since it's a point-and-click adventure, nevertheless, it kept me on the edge. Doom 3, and F.E.A.R. on the other hand relay heavily on cheap scares, other games, more or less, contain the entire package. Creepy, and intense atmosphere, cheap scares, sense of vulnerability which again in most cases has something to do with clunky controls, and slow characters.
I would also like to point to Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth, and Cold Fear, both highly underrated games if you ask me. If you look past the flaws, which again are barely noticeable, you're certainly bound to have an amazing survivor horror experience.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent is pretty creepy. I didn't actually get a hands-on experience, but merely watching it creeped the holy hell out of me. Not a game I think to really play because I'm a bit of a wimp...but man enough to admit it. Yup.
And I agree with the person who created this thread, Dead Space did indeed become stale in the enemy category. Not enough diversity, but still excellent survival horror.
Fatal Frame...yes.
Doom 3...hell yes.
Siren...meh, why not.
That's...all I have to say. I don't get around to too many survival-horror games. Which is ironic considering my love of the horror genre. Really ought to buy more. But I generally play to be relaxed and survival-horrors just aren't in tune with that.

In recent years unfortuantely I can't say any game has really scared me. Some startle me with sudden action, sneak attacks, etc... but no true fear. Shame really, since that's one of the emotions I find most entertaining.

10. Resident Evil Four- Made me jump at times, especially when that monster is chasing you, and you have to freeze him? That made me want to scream and run away xD

8. Dino Crisis Two: Not REALLY scary, but Dino's chasing me wasn't really fun at all, and that damn small one that swipes your card >.<!

I don't play that many scary games, because most of them are pretty linear.
However, I do agree with all the Resident Evil posts, I love Resident Evil and am glad to see so many of the games in people's top ten lists.
Zombies crashing through windows, turning a corner and seeing a split-second of movement, walking past a dead body that's half hanging through a crawlspace, only to see it be dragged in just as you pass it.

I'm in a bit of a rush right now, so I can't think out ten games, but I just wanted to list Resident Evil Remake (atmosphere was GREAT!). Also, if anybody's seen what Resident Evil 4 was originally SUPPOSED to be, (where you see ghosts/hallucinations; there's a video of it you can find online) that would've been a badass and scary game.
Okay guys, I think I kinda need to request that ten games are actually listed,or at least more than like one or two. Please make an attempt at some sort of list (and don't forget to back up your reasons) okies? Otherwise, you will surely be destroyed. Or something. (Cereal-Killer, this wasn't aimed specifically at you, so no worries.)
I personally haven't really played any survival horro games, so I can't really comment. This interjection was required, however. Anyhoo...

I haven't played it myself, but FEAR looks creepy.
My brother thinks Turok 3 is creepy.
Haven't really played many horror based games. There are games with scary bits in. But, in no particular order, here are the ones I have played.
Dead Space - Wow, everything is scary about this game. The atmosphere, the monsters, the sounds, the monsters, the suspense, the monsters. Did I mention the monsters?
Resident Evil - Never played it, but watched it being played, and it was scary as hell. The true originator of these horror games.
Resident Evil 2 - It was the first horror game I ever played, and damn I was bricking it everytime I played, or watched it being played.
Resident Evil 4 - Solely because of those Regenerators. They scare the living shit out of me.
Silent Hill - While RE may be the most popular survival horror game, SH is the scariest for sure.
Alien v Predator (the new one) - Only the marine campaign really. The Aliens are scary enough as it is, but damn.
Nightmare Creatures - Not now, but at the time. I was about 8 when I played this. You had zombies, werewolves, naked women with wings that scream at you, giant spiders, big, two headed four armed beasts (just to name a few) that would jump out at you. Holy hell. Now, it's pretty laughable.
