Those d**n trophies

So yeah as I finally got to play Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 2 I ran across a possible glitch in the system and am curious if any other people have ran across this with the PS3 Trophies or XBox achievements.

As I made my way through the game I was collecting the general advancement trophies. Finally when I got to DNA sequence 14 I went to my trophies and looked and sure enough it states that I never completed DNA sequences 8&9.

Figured, meh, it might go ahead and give me the trophies after the final save (after the credits roll) and sure as hell enough, it DIDN'T.

Now I am not a trophy collector or anything like that but if they are going to put them into game they should at least work. Now if I want to get all of them I have to go through the first half of the game once again.

So I am curious if something similar has happened to you on any game and what you had to do to resolve it or if you even cared enough to go back and take care of it.

Also any ideas as to what might of caused a glitch like this would be appreciated.

Huh, that is strange. I've heard of several games being notoriously glitchy on trophies, but Assassin's Creed wasn't one of the ones I'd heard about. White Knight Chronicles is supposedly on the extreme end of the trophy glitch scale but since all of the trophies are hidden until you earn them, I have no way of knowing if any of them glitched on me unless I get around to looking them up.

The same thing happened to me with God of War 2 in the God of War Collection. They give trophies out for defeating boss batches, and when I beat the game the first time, I didn't get the trophy for Boss Batch 3. I looked around online a little bit, and found some people saying that there might be a glitch regarding the trophy if you didn't beat all of those bosses in one sitting. So when I went through the game again on hard and beat them again in one sitting, sure enough, I got the trophy.

As for your problem, I'm not quite sure, I looked around a little bit, and unless I'm reading something wrong, apparently you can go and just play specific sequences by themselves? Maybe try going back and playing the ones you didn't get a trophy for again. If not, I have no clue, haven't played Assassin's Creed II yet.

I will have to try replaying a memory again then. I tried last night but was unable to and from everything I have read there is mixed responses but mainly no's.

I know on the same game it gave me a trophy for hiring harlots to serve as escorts as I walk through town and you have to spend like 5,000f to get it but I have spent no where near that amount on them even though they are in all actuality very useful.

Just checked, apparently there are a lot of people experiencing problems like this with this one title. Would link the forum if that wasn't against the rules haha. Anyways, now I am certain that if it can happen with AC2 then it could possibly happen with other games.

Honestly I wouldn't let it bother me. Because I don't really care for trophies in the first place. I've always thought that they were retarded.

I'm sure someone who's not a huge collector of trophies would have an OCD bell ring in their head because they were missing a story related trophy slap bang in the middle of the story.

I never had a problem with the Assassin's Creed trophies glitching on me, but I'm looking at yours now, and it's saying your missing all the trophies from "The Merchant of Venice - DNA Sequence 7", but that might be because you've not synced them yet. It's weird, but as suggested above, try and do those levels again.

I've not had too many problems with trophies except that time I just platinum'ed Yakuza 3, and my trophies said the next day that I hadn't got any from that title, and displayed a big, fat 0% next to it for a while. ><

'Cause you look at them out of curiosity. It's also interesting to look at a friend's trophies, and see what they're up to. Not all of them are hidden. xP

I have never had this issue with Assassins Creed II. I got all my achievements with no difficulty.

Haven't really had an issue with Assassin's Creed I or II's achievements (as I don't have a PS3, they're achievements for me) but the system in general sometimes drives me nuts.

I cannot STAND achievements/trophies that reward you for doing the wrong thing. Such as Guitar Hero achievements that require you to fail a song on easy, or fail a song with 10% or less left before the end.

On that note, Sean, the even more obnoxious ones are the ones that reward (penalize) you for quitting early out of games. I'm fortunate that my connection is good enough that I haven't gotten any of those, but I've seen a few people round them up... it always makes you wonder, is their connection just awful, or did they really ragequit?
