    Text-based adventure games

Do you guys and girls play any text-based games like Zork, or whatever else is out there? What is your favorite one to play and what do you like about text-based games?

I like to play these type of games because they are very humorous, they are in-depth with description, and I like to imagine the situation and make logical decisions. We get nice graphiced games on consoles like PS3, 360, Wii, and other stuff but they leave little imagination compared to what you can conjure up in a text-based game. I'm not saying I hate that, I'm just trying to state that its nice to play text based games for awhile and take a break from the newer stuff.

I have no idea what text based games are...is it like Leisure Suit Larry ? I thought it was pretty cool, you have to spell out the actions. First time I ever saw a game like that before.

    Let's Play Leisure Suit Larry

I'm thinking about creating a hybrid. A dolphin-monkey. Half dolphin, half monkey. Do you think it's possible?
I was thinking that since I'm artificially creating it, I'll create it with rocket fuel instead of blood, and thus it will be able to fly, using the dolphin's dorsal fins as wings. And from the air, it will look down upon us all and protect us against sharks, and search for bananas.

    Re: Text-based adventure games

I'm thinking he means games with only text.

I've played a few when I was a youngin'. And by played, I mean I followed along while my parents were playing as I was hardly at a suitable reading level to do so myself. I can't really recall specific games, though I do recall one having something to do with the Titanic. The only thing similar I've played semi-recently would be Adom, which isn't so much a text based adventure game as an RPG using ASCII characters as graphics.

Text based or not, Leisure Suit Larry was the shit.

I played this text based game called The Final Fantasy once. It was alright but there were a bunch of mean people calling me noobs and making fun of me. I came back years later and then I got to be the one calling people noobs so it all worked out

Meier: Hey Pete, I said I started to, it just didn't end the with the same number of women. Then again this one is kind of on the outs with me if she doesn't straighten up and fly right so that means I will be back in it for the thrill of the kill. Got some in the reserves. Even got a rePETEr (<---- like that ay? AYYYYY?) on the back burner.

Block: I do like the rePETEr except it kinda makes it sound like you're going to pork Pete. No homo.
