    Tatsumaki: Land at War

This game looks as though it might be promising: Tatsumaki: Land at War

I somehow doubt it will get much of a following. For most players of MMOs we enjoy the character-sheet and RNG and min/maxing of stat numbers that comes with the genre. Pushing every little bit you can out of your character is all there really is to strive for in RPGs in general, but especially in MMOs. It's the only thing that sets the genre apart from anything else. The scenery, progression, immersible worlds, etc. are all just bonus.

Massively Multilayer Online Adventure Games just don't have the kind of feel an MMO fan has come to expect.

The actual character sheet MMOs are kind of boring though. The ones where you have to manually type in your character's stats and fill out like 80 forms just to create 1 character.
