This is a bit of older news, but still important, Tales of Xillia was confirmed by Namco Bandai to be localized for NA and EU regions coming in 2013. Unlike Tales of Graces f, Tales of Xillia was an exclusive for the PS3, so in a way it is the first Tales game for the PS3 (Graces was a port of the Wii version and enhanced for HD).
Tales of Xillia is the 15th anniversary of the Tales series and was the first game in the series to feature both character designers creating characters for the game. The two designers split of the playable cast of characters with there being two hero type main characters. The designer from Team Symphonia, Kosuke Fujishima, made Jude Mathis, while the designer from Team Destiny, Mutsumi Inomata, made Milla Maxwell.
The story of Xillia has you selecting one of the two characters to starts, but they will eventually both be together and in your party. Because of the two main characters, there are also two openings using the song "Progress" from Ayumi Hamasaki. Jude is a medical student, who fights with his fists, who starts to investigate a number of injures caused by a Spirit Arts backfiring. Milla is on a mission to determine what is happening with the disappearance of a large number of Spirits and prevent those causing it.
Combat in Xillia is similar to Graces system where actions are limited by AC and attacks made consume it. Waiting will restore AC up to the limit. The major difference is that the four party members in battle are paired off. Two characters are linked and fight together against a single monster. This can allow for more teamwork and combo or juggling efforts when in combat.
It has been confirms that all content from Japan will make it into the release either as DLC or part of the core game. So you can start looking forward to this in the coming year.
Curious? There's no limits but your own imagination.
