    Starwars The Old Republic

Is anyone playing this epic MMO?

The 1.2 patch installed today and let me tell you.
    LET ME TELL YOU!
    ._.
    Let me tell you.

    It's friggin sick.
PVP balance is hardly an issue in this game.
There is no one class that stands above the rest.

The story is fully voice acted, well scripted and well acted.

But the biggest thing about this game is the details you hardly notice.
When blaster fire comes at you, your character will lift their lightsaber in that directiob to block. As lightsabers scream toward you, your character ducks and dodges in real time.

The combat is near perfection and looks like a lazer and strobe powered rave.

    Let me tell you.
    Its good.

    Anyone on?

I got into the beta, but never actually ended up playing it.
I moved out of my house and my computer was like the last thing I unboxed. I didn't have room for a desk in my room until I rearranged everything.

Either way, I've watched a few space missions. I thought those were really cool. Definitely thought about playing it just for that.

But I've put my money down on Tera and I'm playing WoW with a friend until then.

Played the beta then went to Canada, would want a new rig if i decide to play it... But enjoyed the beta..

However, ive heard their are alot of bugs with the game and the worlds are empty, i hate when MMO's use instance number zones. Its not really an MMO when they do that as it greatly effects how populated your servers is and feels

After I had two friends pre-order it, play it to death only to find that it took no time at all to max level and not much end game content, I was afraid it would fizzle out a little too fast.

I loved the ideas they placed, but I am just going to wait until Guild Wars 2 comes out.

    yeaaaa

    Game is still meh.

PvP is still broken because Tracer Missile didn't get nerfed. Sorc still heavy populated class.
Pretty much the same shit. You spam Tracer Missile, you spam Death Grip.

Also game is still broken. Bioware needs to fix their problems. High End computers shouldn't have any problems running this game.

Takes no time to get to max level if that all you do. Since I have a job, I find it an enjoyable story rather than an insufferable grind (WoW...)
The game has bugs. It still looks and feels better than, lets say, WoW.

There are instances, which max out just at the cusp of the modern PC's performance capabilities unlike some MMOs which can be so populated that you get about 10 frames a second. Also, you can jump between instances to form groups easily.

There are some moves which are stronger than others.
But every class has an equal counterpart on the opposite faction. As a matter of fact, this is the most balanced PVP Ive ever seen. No one class will always win over another.

Theres plenty of nitpicking and complaining about the game.
Most of it is at least fundamentally warrented. But as a player, who doesnt like starwars or MMOs.
I like the starwars MMO more than the rest of my games.

You can have your plotless games. Your speech bubbles and text logs. You can have your elves and wizards and fairy dust.

Ill take a rifle or a lightsaber and actually smile once or twice during combat.

Let the serious gamers say what they want and the fanboys QQ.
    Im having fun.

I do sort of agree with him.
As far as MMO's go finding a truly balanced PVP will probably never happen.

No, I'm somebody with experience and knowledge. Unlike you, who is easily won over by effects and the Star Wars logo do not. If you played any REAL PvP game (WoW is not real PvP) then you would understand.

Hell Ragnarok had better PvP then WoW.

Forgot to LOL are your comment about WoW having a grind. Maybe 6-8 years ago, but not today.

New MMO with Good PVP? TERA
SWG was really good PvP, sadly the game went to total hell and is gone now. That game shined with it's player ran world.
Good MMO with real PvP? I'd say Darkfall but that game is to hardcore. Just wait for TERA
Eve is cool, but if you got bored (liked me) then don't play it.

Expirience and knowladge about gaming does not make my videogame preferences wrong.
Just like your sarcasm and desire to feel elite do not make your videogame preferences correct.

Terra does sound pretty good, but I havent really looked into it. I noticed a lot of furry creatures and cutesy character designs and decided it probably wasn't going to be populated by a crowd Id want to play with.
However, if one were looking to bash the skulls in of 12 year old girls and limpwrists in PVP, rather than be devastated by teamwork and tactics, terra seems like the place.

I believe the open beta for TERA is in a few days?
I dunno, I stopped playing the beta after like the second one since they were just going to delete my char anyways.

    Re: Starwars The Old Republic

I have enjoyed my share of SW:TOR. Leveled a Bounty Hunter to 50 pre 1.2. I keep trying to get myself to level a shadow to 50 because I want a republic toon... but I just dabble these days. For an MMO, I would play TOR over WoW. The gameplay has enough similarities, which I do not find an issue, but has story. I really enjoy the "Mass Effecty" feel to the leveling game. As a new parent, however, I just don't have the time I would want to put into an MMO. I like playing other games too much and really cannot spend too much time on an MMO if I want to play them all.
