Star Ocean 5 Gameplay Trailer, Confirmed PS4 for Localization
Square Enix revealed the first gameplay trailer for the latest in the Star Ocean series, Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness. Both world environments and combat were shown off in the trailer. Combat will have 6 characters and the party will follow the player out in the world. It was also stated that they are focusing on the gameplay, stating that they want to show that JRPGs are not just about the cutscenes, but that they are about the gameplay. There will still be cutscenes, but it seems the focus will having big grand cutscenes.
They also confirmed that the PS4 version of the game will be coming out to the West in 2016.

It is possible that they just have NPCs and enemies turned off for the sake of what they were wanting to show, which was the environments. It was a very guide and focused trailer on specific things that they wanted to show you. There will be NPCs around that is certain.
