Square Enix Still Committed to AAA Titles

Recent announcements from Square Enix stated that their shift for games would take them to mobile and online with the mobile games a focus for the studios in Japan and online games the focus for the Western studios. Which brought some concern from fans what it would mean for their console single player larger budget titles. Today, they confirmed that they will still create the types of games that they have been known for in the past. It just represents a new focus for them.
