.:Smithsonian Art Of Video Games Exhibit:.

"The Art of Video Games is one of the first exhibitions to explore the forty year evolution of video games as an artistic medium" and "focuses on the interplay of graphics, technology and storytelling through some of THE BEST games for past and present gaming systems including ATARI VCS right thru to today's Playstation 3". Eighty of the best games were chosen from a pool of 240. See the list of winning games here

...Im ecstatic that my all-time favourite videogames(below) made that list. There are lot of Zelda games. Only two Final Fantasys made the winning list tho. One being 'Final Fantasy Tactics' which I have not played.

    Super Mario Bros 3
    Starfox
Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past
    Tomb Raider
    Metal Gear Solid
    Einhander
    Final Fantasy VII
    Super Mario 64
    Star Fox 64
Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
    Shenmue
    Shadow of the Colossus
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons Of Liberty
Halo 2 (woohoo my fave Halo!)
    Splinter Cell
    Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker
    Bioshock
The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Zack and Wiki: Quest For Barbaros' Treasure (So Underrated I always thought heh apparently not!XD)

Ive got great taste I knowXDD..but I would love more than anything to attend this exhibit.. but I dont think I can but for some lucky bastards the exhibition goes through till September 30. So did any of your favourite games make the list? Would you attend? *sigh* They really dont make em like they used to....

I think most the things I voted for actually won, although some of those categories, I was like "*shrug* Guess I vote at random?" Was happy that Bioshock and Fallout 3 beat out their respective competition(World of Warcraft for Fallout 3, and Halo 3 for Bioshock I think.) Also, it was kinda funny to see that Portal beat out Half-life 2. Also interesting that Star Fox Assault won, although I don't recognize either of the games that were its competition... Some of these choices were weird. (Final Fantasy Tactics was a great game, btw.) Anyhoo...

I also voted, and I believe most of my choices also made it to the exhibit. The ones that I see that didn't make it are: Psychonauts (lost to Halo 2) and Limbo (lost to Mass Effect 2), but I'm still pretty happy with the results. I'm kind of surprised Okami made it in, since there was some pretty stiff competition in that category (Kingdom Hearts 2 and Final Fantasy X!), but **** yeah, OKAMI~!

I would totally attend if I had the chance. Seems like it'd be fun. ^^ But alas, I don't foresee that happening for me.

Oh awesome You actually voted! I havent played Fallout, Portal or Half-life 2. Im very much a japanese loyalist when it comes to videogames cause they pretty much invented the Videogame industry so I trust they know their shit. But lately.. what got me into their games in the first place seems to be fading because they're trying to accommodate the stupid ass western market. Yeah it shits me. But nyways now I must get around to playing Final Fantasy Tactics! Thanx!
