    Resident Evil REmake

I know it's an oldie, but I just got to it, and after going through plain shooters known as Resident Evil 4, and 5 it's just what I needed. I'm glad the main core stayed pretty much intact, at the same time the entire overhaul is stunning to say the least. Decent voice acting, better music, and great graphics gave this game a new depth, I only wish they added more to the story. New puzzles, improved old ones, and few new locations kept thing fresh so far, I read somewhere it's 70% different, but I wouldn't go that far.

Getting out of pinch with knife or a bomb is a nice add on, even more since those items, unlike in previous games, don't hold any space in inventory. The only thing that bothered me is how much bullets zombies can take, they were tough in original game but I don't remember them being this tough, and I'm playing on easy. I wouldn't mind seeing Resident Evil 2, and 3 remakes as long as they're made in same manner as REmake, it wouldn't even matter if it was for older consoles such as Play Station 2, and Game Cube, I'm sure they would be equally good, if not better

For those who played ReMake, what do you think? Would you like to see remakes of Resident Evil 2, and 3, for which console, any changes?

Well, that's a good news, though I hope you're not referring to the one fans are working on. I looked around the net, and there's nothing about oficial remake, only rumors, and speculations.

Yeah. I'm not seeing anything about a remake, either. Would you happen to have a source, Loaf?

Anyway, REmake is awesome. The graphics were impressive for the GameCube. Pretty much on par with the PS3's graphics, or close to it. I liked the addition of Lisa Trevor. She was pretty creepy. The remake added a certain atmosphere to the game that the original lacked, though the original does have the classic charm to it. The Crimson Heads could be a pain, but at the same time, I'm glad they added them. The remastered soundtrack was great too. Overall great game. I might even go so far as to give it a perfect 5/5 rating. I had it on the GameCube originally (still do), but I bought the Wii edition, so I use that one now. There's nothing added to it whatsoever or anything, but I just got it anyway.

If you haven't played Resident Evil 0, which is very similar to REmake in many ways, I suggest it.

Do you guys not look into E3? Or read a magazine? I don't do either of those and I know about the Raccoon City game.

    Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City.

I've seen it, I've even read the preview in Next Level, but I'm not quite sure what you're aiming at since Operation Raccoon City is a completely new game, a third person shooter set during the events of Resident Evil 2, and 3. The only connection it has with Resident Evil 2, besides the setting, is the fact that you can encounter Leon.

A bit off topic, but I also heard they are remaking Resident evil 4 for the xbox 360. I think it's going to be an arcade version though. (Not sure though)

I hope so though Resident Evil 4 was the best one in my opinion, and Resident Evil 5 was okay. (Would have been better if the puzzles were more challenging.)

That's the closest to a remake you are getting.

    Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City.
It isn't a RE2 remake, so people shouldn't label it as one. It's a whole different game. And the closest we got to a Resident Evil 2 remake isn't Operation Raccoon City, it was The Darkside Chronicles.

As for a RE4 remake...I really don't think it needs a remake. Not this soon, anyway. But I'm not hating it.

    Re: Resident Evil REmake

Resident Evil 0 for the win! It's epic sauce, and everyone should play it. (Fan rave over.)

As for REmake, it's the second resident evil game I had ever played, and it was my favorite of the series so far. I liked just about everything about it. I can't seem to find reason to complain, there are far more Bastardized RE games out there. (Try resident evil outbreak file 1 and 2, they are both insane!)

The only problem I had with RE one was that ammo was really scarce, and the RE game I played before that was 4 so I was used to mindlessly blasting enemies with MAH ROCKET LAWNCHAIR I GOT FROM DA MERCHANT! (Sigh, some people do this kinda stuff...)

Storywise though, it was stunning. I liked how you could find a random corpse and find out that he was actually some semi-important Stars bravo team member or somthing.

I'd play a remake of 2. However, if they try to pull it in the direction of 4 and 5 with the over the shoulder cammer, I won't play it. It would ruin the original way the game was meant to be played... (Although, given the number of zombies in racoon city, it would make good chaotic gameplay. )
