    PSP GO/PSN Help

Im buying a pspGO after work today. Im wanting it specifically for Final Fantasy titles as well as some other select RPG titles. Now im wondering if the promotion for the 10 free games are stil valid. People say it ended janurary this year, but places still advertise the 10 free games. I'd also like to know what games are and are not available for purchase as Ive visited PSN from my pc and it wouldnt allow me to view any prices or any items in the psn store. Perhaps I've been clicking the wrong links, or perhaps the PSN store is only viewable from psp's or Ps3's. This information I'm hoping someone could provide me with throughout the day as im pretty set on buying it.

I own a psp-1000 from 6 years ago, I think its time I upgrade to PSPGO. Im not interested in custom firmware and I also like the idea of purchasing digital downloads (if anything, they are better since you can re-download them as many times as you wish after you purchase them).

So is this the PSP for me?

    EDIT:
Just found out they dont sell them in Australia anymore. There are only 2 left in jb hifi across Victoria. Damn...

Try GAME. They've been clearing their stock and selling them dirt cheap because of it. I bought a few as birthday presents for people.

As for the free game deals, there's a set range. You redeem a PSN code and a window shows which you can pick from.

Also in reguards to digital downlaods, I plan to pay for all the final fantasy games once again so that I may have them neatly available to me on my pspGO, but I was wondering what methods to use to do this AND if they somehow are deleted, am I able to redownload them as many times as I like after purchasing them?

Yeah, you can download them as much as you want, because you're essentially buying them from the PSN store, which, once you bought it, you own it.

And you can purchase them from the PS Store on the Go itself, on a PS3 where you can store them and transfer whenever (my favourite method) or via PC using the application that comes with it. The power cord has a removable USB cord for PS3 or PC connections.

    Re: PSP GO/PSN Help

Thanks for the info. I bought a second hand psp for $139(near perfect condition, it was very well looked after)which came with a case and also an 8gb memory stick was left inside which contained many games and also some porn. I couldn't play the games since if i want to play my purchased games, I would need to activate it under my account therefor disabling my ability to play the games that came with it. Since I haven't got access to wifi right now (I do, but for some reason it wont let me connect to it, its greyed out) Im using mediaGO through my pc. I purchased a $30 psn card, and after i enter the code, it recognizes it as being a $30 card, but it will not let me add the funds to my wallet. This is a very generic yet anoyying error message "funds could not be added to wallet". I tried using quiriosity, ps3 and mediaGO. None of which worked. I called sony and they failed to help me and claimed to have never had a reported problem like this before. I think thats bs because there seems to be a fair few people on google experiecing this problem not just within this particular timeframe, but months back too. I've yet after all my searching been able to find an answer as to why this is happening. Calling out to you guys n gals here if you have had a similar problem and what worked for you?

First things first, let me know what your firmware is (some preowned consoles have older custom firmware which can cause problems), it should be under settings somewhere.

Also, which model of PSP did you get? I'm guessing likely a non-Go as most don't bother buying memory cards for the Go thanks to it's inbuilt storage. There are guides online for distinguishing between the 2000 and 3000 series slims.

But the obvious fix for wifi is looking for the wifi switch. Is it on or off? Having the switch off was a common problem some of my friends ran into when buying preowned consoles without the instructions.

i would have hoped you would have given me a little more credit than that, Furore.

I did in fact get the pspGO as its highly distinguishable from others since it has a slide function that others dont. Believe it or not, It came with a macro 8gb memory card and I was thankful for that, now I have a total of 22gb storage (2 is reserved for system I believe). Firmware is legitimate, latest 6.70 (i think).
The wifi switch is on, otherwise I would not have been able to pick up my networks, the problem is that they are greyed out and the WEP is "not supported" which I found a problem when I got my new router at home even on my old psp.

Just letting you know I figured out the problem. I was sold a faulty card. I purchased a new $50 card and it added the funds to my wallet. So I will contact sony again and see if they can just add the funds to my account since my card is faulty.

    Thanks for your help.

I was wondering where you had picked up a $30 card anyway. Sony only sells the $20 and $50 cards at retailers Stateside, and was under the assumption it was similar values internationally as well. Now, if I'm wrong about the cards offered in Australia, by all means, it's because I honestly don't know any better. :3

It never hurts to cover all the bases, I know I've made some stupid mistakes as a result of missing something more basic. XD

Good to hear you got the Go and everything's fine.
The only other advice I can give is to install games on the flash memory and other media on the card - the games load so much faster that way and nothing else requires that.
