I doubt there's any less effort or energy put into the indies. These are people that sometimes have to put themselves into financial danger for their games. I doubt you'd find many who are not putting hard work into their games.

Rowan, I suggest you check out "Indie Game: The Movie" if you haven't already, it's a movie about indie developers and all the struggles they face. It's insane to say the least how much effort and time they put into their games, not to mention sacrifices they have to make.
