    Phantasy Star (MS,SG/MD era) series

How many of you played the famous Sega rpg..er..jrpg, Phantasy Star that originated on the Master System and the last of the main series ended on the Genesis/Mega Drive?

    - What was your favorite out of the series?

    - Who's your favorite character out of all 4 games?

    - Favorite event from the series? (can be more than one)

    - What brings you back to playing these games?

The one I'm most familiar with is IV so I'll answer from there.

    - Favorite character is Rune, I like how hes an experienced magician and he is an all around cool guy. I also liked how he helped open a blocked path near the beginning of the game.

    - My favorite event so far is the part where you go into the supposed "meteorite" and learn the truth about it.

    - I never actually beat the 4th game but I have started multiple games on it and the reason for coming back to playing it is because of its engaging storyline and I enjoy the battle system and gameplay as well.

Re: Phantasy Star (MS,SG/MD era) series

I have Phantasy Star II, III, and IV on my PS2 game Sega Genesis Collection. I have played all three of them, but haven't finished any of them. The game doesn't feature the manuals of the games, and at the time I was playing them I didn't have Internet, so I didn't get comfortable enough with the battle systems. I still don't know what most of the spells actually do.

From what I played of those three, IV would be my favorite. I prefer the storyline of IV to the others, but III's story structure really intrigues me (though I have yet to complete the first generation's story). And my favorite character is Rudo from II. His back story touched my heart. I can't remember any events I like, but I do remember getting teary-eyed when the main girl from IV died. I think her name is Alys, but it may be a different spelling from the one that saved the world in the original Phantasy Star.

What brings me back to play the games is the fact that I haven't completed them yet.

I thought of getting Phantasy Star Universe, because it is said that it also has a one-player story mode as well as online play. I told myself to complete the Phantasy Star games I have now before getting any more. I mean, I have 14 Final Fantasy games, and I have only completed 8 of them.

I liked Phantasy Star Online, but it was better with other people. I might try the new online PSO since I can play with others.

I think I played Phantasy Star 2, just can't remember. I never owned a SEGA system, too busy with my SNES and N64.
