PARODY: Kingdom Hearts Project < 3 Sees Light

Last week during the 2013 Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco, Square-Enix held a private conference with some key industry personnel. In the midst of the Kingdom Hearts ReMIX buzz, an exciting bit of information was nestled in with the other discussions. Coming soon to a console near you: Kingdom Hearts: Project < 3

More like external use, amirite???

Potential worlds include the return of Agrabah, a classic Kingdom Hearts locale, and Andy's Room, as Disney seeks the inclusion of the Pixar franchises. Toy Story is a shoe-in for the Kingdom Hearts style. There may also be cameo appearances from newer characters in the Final Fantasy franchise, though no details were released regarding who would be selected.

Project < 3 features Sora, Riku, Goofy and Donald taking up roles as primary party members. There is no word on whether the maximum party size is to be adjusted, nor was there any mention of whether Mickey will see a primary role. Kairi is hinted as a playable character, but nothing is yet known of her role.

While it is most likely that the game would see a release on the PS3, it may be viable on the PS4, or multiplatform. Platform was not mentioned at all during the private conference.

More details to be released leading up to and after the official release of the Kingdom Hearts 2.5 ReMIX.

Thanks to all who played along, but as KH Insider was outed incredibly early, we've decided to go ahead and clarify.

This delightfully almost-believable hoax was brought to you primarily behind the scheming mind of Freya at Eyes on FF, collaborating with myself and other key members of the SQEX fansite community (many of whom were at January's Lightning Returns event). Through Sign of KHI, we were able to reach out to other KH fansites, including those with international standing.

Sorry for any broken hearts (pun intended).

We still don't know what SQEX JP's teaser site (see next post below) will have in store for us, so there may actually be hope for some real announcements. Happy tenth anniversary, Square-Enix!

For anyone who missed it, this comes on top of the earlier SQEX JP reveal of a new teaser site regarding the 10th anniversary of their merger. In a nutshell, it says thanks for the years of support, and they're thinking of collaborations and a "bunch of things" that will make people quite happy.

So they are going to finish Versus and finally make a KH3? I think both of those things will make people happy, that and a remake of FFVII, but I'd prefer new games. I saw the tenth anniversary pop up on sites and initial reaction was that it was talking about KH, but it released 2002 so it didn't match up. Sort of forgot about the merger. It'll be interesting to see what they do with this anniversary.

If one of the official announcements is that Versus is coming this year, I may cry tears of joy. Combine that with LR having already been confirmed for fall release, and this could be a great holiday season for FF fans. Then the Versus team can go back to being what they really are - the KH team. GET SOME.

I was under the impression from everything I'd read that Versus XIII got rebadged as FF XV and slated for a PS4 release.

Versus being rebranded currently just a rumor. Square has made no statement regarding any changes in Versus other than that they want us to keep waiting until they ready. They are saying it is going to be soon. The only thing Square has said is that there is a new FF game to be announced at E3, likely for the PS4 at the very least.

There is absolutley no way this game could ever live up to the hype, its impossible.

unless it was a test engine for ff7-2 or ff7 remake, then it would make up for it.

I had this conspiracy theory that they were working on ff7 all along...

But why would the KH team be working on FFVII? /sigh

I bet the real reason SQEX isn't posting profits is because the Versus team is secretly embezzling the entire company's assets.

The KH team are working on a final fantasy game, its no longer a KH team... just people who have worked on KH before...

Just occured to me, but I think im one of the very few who couldnt give a shit about KH. It was good an all, but far too cartoonish/childish for me to be obsessed with some sort of sequal. I dont care what happens, I just want rehashes of my all time fav games.

KH 1 and 2 were/are great but mostly everything else after that became too convoluted. So now i've got from a major fan of the series to pretty much what Rowan said.
